Based on the concept that I designed the band's logo, of each show be a place where the public can enter and help themselves with good music, my proposal for this essay was to develop the Groove a la Carte Club. Because of that, I chose the noir style. Lights, location, make up, expressions, everything was set up to achieve this aesthetic. For the location, I searched a closed environment with little enlightenment. Luckyly I found a snooker bar that was really everything I had imagined. I worked with Lucia Ferreira, a makeup designer, and the assistant Gabrielle Moreira. One of the funniest parts of the project was certainly the study I did about the noir language. I watched several films, from "The Lady from Shanghai" to the more recent ones, as "The Black Dalia." One of the challenges was to apply the noir style to colors, since most of the material is black and white.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7SLGFNIMvs
Des speechs seront donnés par plusieurs personnes qui ont subi de la brutalité policière dans une manif;

CALL FOR A RALLY IN SOLIDARITY WITH THE VICTIMS OF POLICE BRUTALITY
BY COBP AND L'ASSÉ
THE COBP and ASSÉ invite you for a gathering in solidarity with the victims of police brutality in our demonstrations. We invite all the victims, the crippled and the wounded of the armed wing of the SPVM to be present! And of course all those people who want to denounce police brutality.
On April 3rd 2014, at the protest against austerity measures organized by ASSÉ , Robert Fransham, 71 years old, was brutally thrown from his bike by the riot cops. He went to the hospital and doctors found that he had a concussion. He also had to have stitches on the leg (when he fell , the pedal of his bike opened his leg). As of April 17th 2014, Robert is still in the hospital : there is a complication with his leg and he had to get surgery. He should be out within one or two weeks (hopefully).
We remember the twitter post by the SPVM after the event, which stated that Robert's injury was caused by a projectile launched by a protester. But videos and testimonials released after the demonstration prove quite the opposite.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7SLGFNIMvs
Unfortunately, we find that, increasingly, police brutality invades our events. We also observe that the SPVM finds itself more and more at ease in our demonstrations (for example, walking as they please in the middle of our meet up points with their GoPro cameras). It is completely unnacceptable to let the SPVM establish a police State and a climate of fear in our gatherings!
Robert is a victim among hundreds of others, but one victim is one too many. And what shocks us more about this story is how the SPVM tried to blame the demonstrators for his injuries. We are also saddened that, after his fall, the cops walked next to him without giving him any attention.
The COBP and ASSÉ strongly denounce the many cases of police brutality during the demonstration on April 3rd and also all the other events. It's becoming increasingly difficult to get our messages and our demands heard in a context where we're constantly brutalized by the cops. POLICE BRUTALITY IN OUR EVENTS MUST STOP! POLICE BRUTALITY IN OUR DAILY LIVES MUST STOP! SOLIDARITY WITH ALL THE VICTIMS OF THE PUNITIVE POLICE MACHINE!

It's a heap. Ready for the garbage. Probably too much mixed materials for recycling?
I've been consolidating and organizing my information. CDs and DVDs, once thought to be tidy storehouses for a lot of info are now bulky compared to flash drives.
My history of writing and photos is now fairly organized on flash drives. I'm tossing quite a few redundant CDs and DVDs that I made as backup storage in earlier years.
Some of this pile is just empty CD boxes which are, in themselves kind of bulky. I've taken the CDs and DVDs, themselves, and put them in paper sleeves that are easier to stack.
For instance, the pretty ocean scene (ocean surf sounds) on the cover of a CD box is also on the CD itself. That's now kept in a paper sleeve with a clear film window.
I'm keeping the flash drives in the picture, but put them by this pile to show size comparison. Also kept a few crumbs on the floor for the picture. It's our constant battles against chaos. My place is moderately clean, however.
My box of computer things (not shown) is now much neater. The lid now closes. It fits well on a shelf in my studio apartment.
Much of my writing and photography is in the cloud as well as being on flash drives. Things that I think are worth putting on the cloud.
In my case, the "cloud" is public. My blog, photo albums on Flickr and so forth.
Much of the rest of the "information" isn't necessarily backed up in the cloud, but if it's lost, the world might not really care that much.
The world is bursting at the seams with information these days.
