Event log on windows 2003 terminal server with Citrix presentation server 4.5. The userenv errors logged on citrix servers (terminal servers) whenever a particular group of users in an OU logged in: Error events 1101 and 1030:
Event ID 1101:
Windows cannot access the the object OU=TabletPCUsers,DC=localdomain,DC=gr in Active Directory. The access to the object may be denied. Group Policy processing aborted.
Event ID 1030:
Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. Check the event log for possible messages previously logged by the policy engine that describes the reason for this.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the Group Policy engine in Windows XP Professional and Windows Server 2003 does not have read permissions to the following attributes of the parent
OUs:
gPLink
gPOptions
If the Group Policy engine does not have these permissions, the Group Policy engine cannot apply Group Policy settings.
In Microsoft Windows 2000 Server, the events that are described in the "Symptoms" section are not logged. However, the Group Policy engine in Windows 2000 Server also cannot apply Group Policy settings that are linked to the OU.
By default, access to all OUs is granted according to an access control entry in the default security descriptor. This security descriptor is part of the schema that enables the Authenticated Users group to read all the properties.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, grant sufficient permissions to access the parent OUs to all the user accounts and to all the computers that apply Group Policy settings through the OUs.
What resolved the problem for this site was even simpler that applying any security policy changes. In this scenario, the application log was getting event 1101 and event 1030 for the same users in the 2003 domain.
The events were not being logged for all users. The commonality for these users was they were in the same user group, tabletuseraccounts and they also were in the same OU. Changing their user group had no impact on the results, but after more testing it was realized that changing their OU in fact did change the results. The event 1030 and 1101 was stopped being logged. So this was undoubtedly an OU problem in AD.
The solution that worked at this office and domain was that a new OU was created with a different name than the original of course. All user accounts were moved into the new OU. All accounts stopped causing event 1030 and 1101 from being entered int he event log in this windows 2003 AD domain.
trying to fold puff star pyramids without a grid. that's actually not a very big deal: fold a random off-set hexagon in the center, twist it, then go on folding another hexgaon twist but twist it the other way around.
I was lucky enough to fold the green model and have the flaps on the back close in a perfect tato structure. I re-opened the model and try to see if there's a good reference for the initial hexagon. and indeed there is. wait and see : ) (but surely oschene could figure it out...)
next step is to try a 3 tier pyramid and have the flaps close nicely at the bottom. I calculated the reference point for the central hexagon and ended up with the white model proving my calculations miserably wrong. so I try something else and then another and then... so I collect all those different models.
the green model is the cool 2 tier pyramid, the peach one gives a reasonable 3 tier model. the light green sheet will be a last test.
a non-prodctive yet productive folding day...

Countdown 2011, Monday, December 12-Day 42
It's fairly new and replaced one that just fell apart. Yes, they are cheaply made ...I know.
I've barely used it and getting an occasional error message but my return date has already passed. Maybe just needs contacts cleaned...we'll see. I still love it though!
SOOC| Just toyin with manual focus on the Tamron 90mm and catching up on my Countdown 2011=)
Xerox Phaser giving me troubles today. I have never used “off brand” Xerox ink, so not sure what is causing this error.
I might have to take the damn thing apart to fix it, or hire someone to do it for me. Grrrr

This is my second most viewed photo. (The closeup is first).
I've always wanted to take pictures of crashed public computers as I have seen so many of them, but didn't have a digital camera. Now that I do, I hope I get just as many chances to capture them.
