Paisajes marineros en el CLUB NÀUTIC de COMA-RUGA en EL VENDRELL, litoral de la Costa Dorada de Tarragona en la Catalunya marítima, el sol de tarde empieza a declinar y sus postreros destellos se inscriben sobre el malecón del puerto y las barcas amarradas, el cielo nos marca el próximo atardecer en la costa. Walking aimlessly around the coliseum in Arles, we eventually came upon Rue Ernest Renan on the north side. Ernest Renan was a French expert of Middle East ancient languages and civilizations.
That this street was named after him is not particularly exceptional; there are many streets across France named after him. But the cobblestones, blue doorway and shutter, with potted plants was too pretty to pass by without a photo.

Estos días la metereología va cambiando, cielos con nubes que originan una enorme variedad de luces en los momentos de pintar los paisajes de los pueblos del Baix Empordà en Girona, Norte de Catalunya, resulta increible la riqueza que suponen los efectos de la luz celeste en cualquier rincón que te encuentras pintando, la luminosidad es uno de los más importantes factores en la pintura que observa el paisaje, un mismo lugar puede verse afectado de miles de formas distintas según el cielo acaricia los elementos pintados. En LA PERA y PÙBOL he encontrado la magia del ordenar las casas y los edificios según los caprichos de la iluminación natural. A year ago, I shot the old 420 Grant St. house where recently married couple, Bill and Edna, announced their return to Longmont and Long Island marriage to Longmonters, the 320 Sunset street house and now here's another oldie. I found the 517 Collyer Street - Charles Lewis house where Ernest and Alice Kiteley, Bill's parents, took up housekeeping by 1908 although Charles Lewis only built it in 1899 and John Decker owned in 1906, the year of their marriage. Those were quick turn-arounds all. This house has a Longmont Landmark designation placque by the porch. I found it by scanning their 1908 city directory I scarfed from Ancestry.com. In fact, the house was around the block from Alice's father and mother, the James Alexander St. Clairs. It was also a few blocks down Collyer Street from the early founder and father, William John Kiteley's house on Ninth Avenue. They were still there in 1912 but were living at 529 Pratt Street by the 1920 census. Dig all available records deeply. I have hit Northern Irish. English, French and Germans in my family digging now. Perhaps there is another oldie within the data. Oh, I found a goodie!
This is the updated view of the Collyer Street house with over a century of heavy yard growth and big trees. I shot it a couple of times when I saw reasonable lighting and background sky though this was the better sky and lighting. The contrasty light was terrible so I shot this in shade and cleaned it up as I could. No wonder that I slack off now and again and find relief elsewhere. My brain moves around faster than my physical tenacity can follow.
Snapping recent pictures are the easy part of the genealogy. Digging for facts is the tough part. Here, I've grabbed at least a couple more shots for my genealogy story I am building and have spent hours on Ancestry at the Longmont Library attacking the US Census and City Directory collections to zero in on details.
Ravenous as always, nothing could sate Ernest's hunger for life.

El edificio de los antiguos Juzgados, Antics Jutjats, en la ciudad de Manresa, junto al Parc de la Seu se encuentran estos edificios que forman parte de la historia ciudadana y también del Patrimoni Arquitectónic, ahora ya no se utilizan como tales por haberse construido els Nous Jutjats, pero su presencia estática junto a la puerta de la Basílica sigue imponiendo, una enorme y señorial puerta preside la trabajada fachada en la que respiran ventanas y balcones, los árboles nos acompañan siempre para ofrecer su vida y color, paisajes urbanos en la parte más antigua e histórica, monumentos de la arquitectura social que embellecen las calles. Pintura del artista pintor Ernest Descals sobre papel de 50 x65 centíemtros, sigo pintando el màximo de referencias de Manresa, capital de la Comarca del bages en la provincia de Barcelona, Catalunya Central, en bastantes ocasiones tuve la experiencia de acudir a este juzgado para distintas celebraciones de todo tipo, recuerdo con claridad sus escaleras interiores que pintaré más adelante.
