Town Showed Great Hart! A gritty comeback from 2 nil down midway through the first was started with a Tom Ince goal just before half time. Ridge came out strong in the 2nd and soon saw an equalizer from captain George Melling before a quick brace from Jay Hart put the game to bed. Town got one more through Richie Allen before AFC got a consolation. A great start to the new league with 3 points.

The mighty photoshop 2 strikes again!
I got this free with my eos 550d years ago.
I don't mind it being very dated because it works at what I want it to do.
I made a duplicate layer then equalized ( which really pulled out the sky ) the top one.
Set mode to multiply and opacity to something like 50% and then flattened it.
Taken from the Board of Equalization building at 450 N Street in downtown Sacramento. I occasionally get roof access, so I took the opportunity to snap some overlapping photos with my little point and shoot and created a panorama in Adobe Lightroom. The Crocker Art museum can be seen on the left, the Tower Bridge and Ziggaraut buildings on the right, and I-5 and the Sacramento River throughout the frame.

Student activists from CT Students for a Dream (C4D) and supporters rally to demand justice in higher education for undocumented students with legislation that equalizes access to student-generated funds: State Capitol, Hartford, Connecticut, Thursday, April 13, 2017.
"In Connecticut, public colleges and universities set aside a proportion of tuition revenue to be used as ‘institutional aid’ to assist students with a demonstrated financial need. However, immigrant students who have grown up in CT and have graduated high school here are not eligible for this student-generated aid. All Connecticut students, including undocumented students, pay tuition and therefore contribute towards this institutional aid pool of funds. Yet Connecticut does not allow immigrant students access to institutional aid themselves. This aid is student funded, we believe all students who pay tuition should be be eligible to receive it.”

I'm doing a new project at the Board of Equalization building located at 450 N Street in downtown Sacramento (also known as the "Tower of Terror" by the Sacramento Bee due to numerous issues that have cost the State of California millions, including employee claims due to water infiltration and mold and reports of the exterior windows spontaneously breaking and falling to the ground). Yep, this is gonna be my project now. Yesterday, I brought my camera to take photos of the interior of the building to document conditions for work, but was fortunate to have the opportunity to go on the deck of the 22nd floor and get a few, quick handheld shots of the downtown Sacramento skyline. The afternoon was very foggy with bad light, so I'm hoping to get another opportunity to come back and capture this view under better lighting conditions. This view looking towards West Sacramento shows the Sacramento River, Tower Bridge, the infamous Ziggaurat building, CALSTRS, and I-5.

The young women who attend Cullman Middle School recently got the opportunity to learn hardcore, advanced self defense skills from Officer Cindy Rohrscheib of the Cullman Police Department.
Officer Robrscheib is a certified instructor in the Equalizer Self-Defense Program. She has helped train police officers and deputies throughout the Cullman County area. She is now also assisting the general public in safety awareness and women’s self-defense training across all ages groups.
Physical Education Coach Leann Evans has teamed up with Officer Rohrscheib over the last 8 years to provide this Equalizer Self-Defense Training to willing female students at Cullman Middle School. Each year brings the tried and true methods of the Equalizer system along with evolving techniques and amazing nuances designed by Officer Rohrscheib. This year’s new innovation involved escape techniques employed if students are bound by duct tape and/or rope by would-be potential attackers of captors.
This year’s program ran for a full two week session. It was challenging, rigorous and fun!

This would have been at the midships section, bolted to the deck with connecting rods to the deep tank ballast valves, the large spigot key would fit into the centre.

This D-104 modification uses the QST article written by ND2M for the EQ5+Microphone Equalizer written in Dec. 2002 QST.
W2AEW also has a good preamp circuit here www.qsl.net/w2aew/myd104amp.html
Bob’s article offers a total package DIY microphone equalizer with a preamp, EQ, multiple impedance inputs, visual LED output, switch in the EQ or bypass, etc. This was way more than I needed for my D-104 as I really just wanted the preamp and the EQ to adjust some lows and cut some highs from the D-104. A set it and forget it type of adjustment.
Fortunately, Bob designed the preamp and the EQ on one board and the populated board will fit in the base of the D-104. The boards are available from Far Circuits, but you have to buy both the visual output board and the preamp/EQ together as they are printed up on one fiber board. You’ll have to scribe and break off the preamp/EQ board.
Unfortunately, the component numbering was not printed on the PCB so I had to trace out the component placements using the schematic from the article. I also opted to use a 1uF polarized capacitor (with positive towards the preamp DC) at the input of the preamp as I could not find a 4.7uF non-polarized.
This mod provides significant gain through the preamp and allows for highs and lows to be cut or added with the crossover at about 800hz.
One feature Bob put in his EQ5+ design was a dip switch which allowed the swapping around of pins on the mic cable for the purpose of running the microphone with several brand rigs. I thought this was a brilliant idea, so I added a dip switch to allow me to run on my Elecraft K3 or my Icom 7600.
The circuit does not require much current and I wired it to use the 8V mic supply pins on the K3 and 7600. It's wired to power the op amp continuously, the current is low.
I have also installed a TL082 op amp which also works well. Any general purpose dual op amp should be ok to use, TL072/82 TLC2272 etc. etc.
