This was our table for the 2007 Equality California dinner in SF. We had three elected officials: Senator Ellen Corbett, Campbell City Councilmember Evan Low and Hayward City Councilmember Kevin Dowling.

Allah says in surat Al-Hujurat, (verse 13), what be translated as, “O Mankind! We have created you from a male and female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, The most honoured of you in the sight of God is (he who is) the most righteous of you Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware.”

With this verse, Islam declares equality among people, that is because Islam respect a human for being a human not for any other reason; Islam dose not distinguish between two races, or two groups of people, or between two colors, and the prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) addressed the people signifying that concept during the last pilgrimage, saying: “O People! Your God is one; your father is one; no preference of an Arab neither over non-Arab nor of a non-Arab over an Arab or white over black or black over white except for the most righteous. Verily the most honored of you is the most righteous.”

Allah’s Messenger eradicated the problem of racial or colour discrimination so successfully that superiority is not by birth or colour or blood, but by God-fearing and righteousness.

In another tradition, the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, was asked : “Who among men is most favoured by God?’ He replied : “A man who does the most good to people.”

Reported by Ahmad and Al-Tirmidhi on the authority of Abu’ Nadhrah. Racism is one of the worst forms of discrimination in our world today, and should not condoned. Sadly, it is still very common and continues to be a problem.

In Islam, racism is not allowed.

In Islam and in the presence of the Almighty, our looks and our gender do not matter, but what is inside us that counts.

The Messenger of Allah said, “Verily, Allah does not look at your appearance or wealth, but rather He looks at your hearts and actions.”

I contrasti e i pregiudizi possono appianarsi.

Parità, inclusione, femminismo, talento, diritti, ambiente, tecnologia, consapevolezza.

blotto is such a vengeful character!

The word equality means equal, but it doesn't mean fair. If we feed a small dog and a large dog just half a cup of food a day, we are equal, but that doesn't mean it's fair to the big dog!
