In the year 2034, all hell was broken loose when Russia launched their nukes. So did the US. And China. Basically everyone launched everything they had once they gained a sense of insecurity, and the world was decimated to a large wasteland, with virtually no survivors and only one major force still standing, which was only known as "the District".
Basically, everyone was fucked.
Here, are two survivors, only a few months after the bombs were dropped, come across a dead District soldier, and a nearby grave.

I love architecture and I decided to design an opera house to Bricklink Designer Program Series 6 and my inspiration came from the opera houses of Budapest and Vienna. I tried to add many typical details, and decorations such as a combination of an arcade and a balcony on the front facade, statues, dormer windows, a brick-built light pole, light on the rear facade, planter etc.. The roof assembly and the auditorium balcony are removable and a big part of the rear wall is openable to make the interior space accessible.

While we were watching the Queen's Gambit on Netflix, some locations seem to be familiar to us. Some places that were supposed to be foreign, like Moscow and Mexico City, looked like places we recognized from our daily life here in Berlin. With this thought in mind, we decided to look for Queen's Gambit locations, and the first place we visited was the Methuen Home orphanage, also known as Schloss Schulzendorf.
On a cold Saturday morning, in November 2020, we took our cameras and our drone and headed south of Berlin to the town of Schulzendorf where this large house can be found. We took a train from Neukölln to the new BER airport, there we met with our friends from Canal Alemanizando. Finally, we headed by bus to the first of many Queen's Gambit Locations in Berlin.

my (belated due to technical difficulties but still in before any admin could say the contest was closed! ha!) weekly contest entry. i hear this sound numerous times a day. when i walk under it, reach my hand up and give it a tap.
Entry into Culzean Castle grounds, originally built in the late 1500s as a rambling L shaped tower house. This arch shows the Kennedy coat of arms with the motto "avise la fine" which means "consider the end". By the way, Culzean is pronounced without the "z".
THE KENNEDY FAMILY is one of Scotland’s oldest families and trace ancestry to Robert the Bruce. Culzean Castle was their principal seat from 1759, the castle and its landscape reflecting their status and aspirations. Over the centuries, the Kennedys transformed a medieval tower house, built to protect its inhabitants during dangerous times, into one of the grandest country houses in Ayrshire.
In the 1770s, the 10th Earl commissioned the famous architect, Robert Adam, to create a house worthy of his political status. The armoury display is the largest collection of its type in existence, apart from Her Majesty the Queen’s at Windsor Castle. In 1812, the flamboyant and ambitious 12th Earl bought the pistols and swords from the Office of Ordnance at the Tower of London. The arms were dispatched from London in twelve chests along with ‘one of the men from the tower with the Arms, who will fix them up in a proper manner’.
The gardens and Home Farm of Culzean provided a huge variety of fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs and poultry and there would have been a plentiful supply of fish, shellfish and game. Two ice houses at Culzean provided ice for cooling drinks, making ice cream, and preserving food.
When the Kennedy family donated the castle to the National Trust for Scotland in 1945 they asked that the top floor be given to General Eisenhower as a thank you from the people of Scotland.
Ike first came to Culzean in 1946 and was clearly touched to accept this gift. He visited the castle three more times, once as President when, for a short while, Culzean was his Scottish White House.
His longest stay was during his retirement when he enjoyed painting and walking in the peace and quiet of Culzean's beautiful gardens, woodland and shore, as well as playing golf nearby.
He wrote of Culzean, "This is a place I can relax." There is a museum honoring General Eisenhower and you can rent the Eisenhower suite if you want to stay there and can afford it.
