These gold covers were UV printed onto white luminescent cloth and then mounted to screen board. The gold was matched to a PMS colour while the wine glass pattern was printed using clear ink embossing. The logo in the centre was solvent printed on vinyl, laminated and then cut using Print/Cut registration. It was then debossed using a die cut on the Roland engraver.

This installation used Kerlite 40” X 40” 3.5mm wall tile and 20” X 20” 3.5mm floor tile. Because of the existing conditions which included uneven patches of mismatched tile, uneven surfaces and height limitations, the owner and designer agreed that the thin panel porcelain should be installed over the existing 2” X 2” mosaic tile. The owner and designer asked if we had any experience with tile over tile applications; we confidently said yes. The only stipulation we expressed was that all the setting and grouting materials had to be TEC.
We contacted TEC’s technical department and asked which mortar to use. We were told to use TEC’s Ultimate Large Tile Mortar for the 40” X 40” wall tile and 20” X 20” floor tile. Because of our previous experience with setting tile over tile we knew the only membrane to use to adhere to the existing tile was TEC’s 560 Multipurpose Primer, and in order to make sure that this installation would be “bulletproof” we recommended that TEC Power Grout be used to grout this installation. The biggest obstacle for this project was time constraints. We had 48 hours to install each restroom so that the employees had use of the restrooms by Monday morning.
Because of our prior experience using TEC products and by using CTEF Certified installers, we were able to surgically strike, dropping in our highly trained installers to complete our mission and then exiting the tactical area of responsibility without any casualties. We cleaned the tile and applied the multi-purpose membrane. After letting the membrane set-up to manufacturer specifications, we then adhered the thin tile over the existing 2” X 2” mosaic tile. We checked coverage by pulling various pieces of wall and floor tile. The fact that the Power Grout sets up for regular foot traffic in four hours, gave us the extra time to install the tile correctly and per manufacturer specifications. We finished the project two hours before the company opened on Monday. The designer and owner are thrilled with the look of their new bathrooms. We consider this a victory for everyone.
