The Dev Deepavali or "Festival of Lights of the Gods" is the festival of Kartik Poornima celebrated in mainly Varanasi, and a bit in Kolkata too.The main rituals performed by devotees consist of kartik snan (taking a holy bath in the Ganges during Kartika) and offering of oil lighted lamps to Ganga in the evening. The Ganga aarti is also performed in the evening. The gods are believed to descend to Earth to bathe in the Ganges on this day

Our spontaneous activity on our trip to Canberra this year was to go to the Enlighten festival. There was a mix of architectural projections of the buildings, roving performers, bands and food.

Photographed in early morning light (5:30 a.m.); the only time of day this enchanting place can be experienced without thousands of people...or pigeons!

Last night I was back in to see the full Enlighten Bendigo mainly to try again with a mode only on Olympus cameras as far as I know called Live Composite.
Basically it exposes for X amount of time then repeats but only records the light resulting in this 22min startrail without over exposing.
It was just me at 10:30pm during the 22min exposure and the temperature was dropping so I thought I'd captured enough to see the earth's rotation around the southern pole and had a quick look at the other projection before heading home.
Our first stop on a recent country photo shoot was in the village of Legal Alberta. We stopped to photograph one of the old grain elevators that were still standing and ended up finding these treasures as well.
National Gallery of Australia. The projection takes images from the James Turrell exhibition. This is a panorama of about 8 pics, because I only had my 25mm lens on me.
LOL, I just noticed the ghostly disappearing car.
Taken at the ATCA (Antique Truck Club of America) truck show held annually at the Macungie Memorial Park in Macungie, Pennsylvania. I had no idea that such a thing as a "Mack Jr." truck actually existed. Thanks to the Eilers brothers from Readsboro, Vermont for bringing this beauty to the show and enlightening me. As it turned out, there was at least one other at the show that I noticed later.
From the net:
"1936-1938 - Mack merchandised a series of trucks under the name "Mack Jr." The vehicle was actually built by the Reo Motor Car Company in Lansing, Michigan. The vehicles were built according to Mack specifications and were sold through the Mack sales organization. In total, there were 4,974 chassis built during this time frame."
This is the start of Brisbane River Fire, this occurs every year, and as the start of the ceremony they have this jet that flies around the city with burning fuel behind her, one of a kind.
Unfortunately this was the last time this jet will be used.

The setting sun is shining through the entrance doorway of Santuario de Nuestra Señora de los Reyes.
The shrine is located at about 1000m above the sea level, thus the clouds are often below.
Sorry, a little bit noisy and not really sharp...
