Isn’t water great! It can come as a liquid in a river, as gas in clouds, as solid in snow, and as delicious in beer !
This is a pic taken somewhere between Jasper & Blue River in Canada. I think. If anyone recognises the place and can enlighten me that would be great.
I remember having to sneak away from my group of fellow travellers with another truant , and clambering over several boulders and blocked trails to reach this isolated and empty little river bank. Was worth getting put in the naughty book for 😉
Edit - mystery solved, it’s near Athabaska Falls
I had taken this at Longwood Gardens, in PA.

Fading daylight and a backdrop of thunderclouds allowed for the creation of this dystopian, moody cityscape.

Enlightening
A morning of light and shadows along Hadrian's Wall.
There was a good bit of colour through the sky to start with, but this was the image I was looking for not long after sunrise. It's the smallest detail that I actually like in this image, the shadow of the tree cast as the sun first appears.
This wee tree should produce more over the autumn and winter months with a couple of other compositions already noted for future trips.

I had come back to look for the White Admiral in our local wood, which I had seen only fleetingly this summer, when I noticed this unusual butterfly - different from anything I had ever seen before. My thanks to Tim Melling for enlightening me on it being an exceedingly rare female Silver-washed Fritillary extreme Aberration Ocellata. To quote the Teddy Bear Picnic song,"If you go down to the woods today you're sure of a big surprise ...."
BEETHOVEN:
I love lying in her chairs, but I'm not allowed to. She puts so many thick cushions in them that I can't get in. But I know how to treat her, you know. I put my paws on the edge of the chair, and she says, "Wait a minute..." Then she removes the cushion and puts a nice towel down for me. I wait patiently until she's finished, and then I'm off: onto the chair and off to sleep!
Yes, I know how to behave, but so does Mom ;-)
