Former Royal Air Force English Electric Lightning F.3 XR713/C on display outside Bruntingthorpe's LPG 'QRA' sheds during the 2018 'Lightning Storm' event
Once on charge at RAF Leuchars and used as 'Treble One' Squadron's 'Gate Guard', when the RAF left Leuchars the LPG acquired her

On the day '713' was in dual marks - No.111 'Tremblers' and newly applied No.56 'Firebirds' colours on her starboard side along with spoof serial - XR718 and coded 'C'
Sadly, since the airfield was sold, the LPG is now limited to a small fenced enclave around their QRA Sheds.
The two F.6 'runners' being reduced to engine runs only as their spectacular 'Fast Taxi' dashes down Brunter's huge runway are now consigned to history

Astley Green Mining Museum walkabouts
Liked this place a lot. Run by volunteers whose aim is to keep the history of coal mining alive. Great for general walkabouts with all sorts of heavy industrial equipment wanting you to take a photo.
Was smitten with this place & the bunch of lovely ex mining folk who made me very welcome, thank you.
Thought a mono conversion for this image would smash it ;-))

I looked out the window this morning and was entranced by the beautiful rays of sunlight beaming thru the morning mist - our drive looked like some sort of magic pathway. . .;)
(ok, so if I was any good at photoshop I could try and get rid of the power-pole but hey - that would be far too much work! lol. . .)
Wishing you all an early happy weekend!!
I am off to Brisbane early on the morrow for a 'girlie' weekend away with my sister! yay!! - oh yes. . .the camera too!! lol. . . ;))
"As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives."

Our spontaneous activity on our trip to Canberra this year was to go to the Enlighten festival. There was a mix of architectural projections on the buildings, roving performers, bands and food.
On the side of Questacon there was an amazing lunar landing, space theme.
One of the more challenging images I have processed due to the conditions when this was shot.
It is a Torri Shrine in Japan that has two lanterns placed in front of the gateway which is set in a tidal estuary.
It is a beautiful and tranquil place and when I left I was feeling totally calm and relaxed
Please feel free to comment and or critique.
Thanks in advance Ricky

Another enjoyable subterranean light session with Mark O'Neill. I've said it before and I'll say it again, you couldn't meet a nicer bloke to work with. We had a fine location but no planned agenda so had to work on the fly and spark off one another with what tools we had to hand. The framing and set up were excruciating to say the least but luckily we are both afflicted by a similar level of OCDLP and able to go that extra mile when it counts.
I spent the majority of the shoot using Mark as the main subject, then when trying a LED "crown of thorns" on myself I finally selected this image for the keeper. Sorry Mark........oh yes, and there's no need to bother going back to retrieve your bag of chocolate mini eggs as I have just polished them off after finding them in my kit bag !
The echo in here was insane, almost to the point that we were avoiding speaking to one another at any distance.
Single long exposure with the tiniest of crop and watermark.
