Muottas Muragl is located between Samedan and Pontresina and is one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the Engadin valley. The impressive landscape, the light and the breathtaking views across Upper Engadin and the Bernina Massif once inspired artists, poets and philosophers such as Giovanni Segantini and Friedrich Nietzsche. The mountain can be reached by a vintage funicular railway dating from 1907.

Kein Surfer machte uns den Platz streitig. Der Silsersee in seiner ganzen Länge gehört uns für eine kurze Zeit ganz allein. Was will der Mensch noch mehr? Vielleicht eine schöne Tasse Kaffee mit Seesicht? Es sollte nicht sein. Auf die Schnelle fand ich kein offenes Café und der einzige Lebensmittelladen auf meinem Weg war - wie das Hospiz auf dem Julier - geschlossen. Also gab es ein Päckchen gutgelagerte Guetzli, die ich im Auto fand und eine halbe Flasche Mineralwasser. Der feine Apfelstrudel mit Vanillesauce muss warten, bis wir nächstes Frühjahr wieder über den Julier fahren.
