View across Lake St. Moritz (Lej da San Murezzan) in late October. It was a cold morning, but the lake was not yet frozen, which allowed us to enjoy the reflections.

Im Tal mit Silvaplanersee und dem Ort Silvaplana. Von dort sieht man die Julierstrasse über den Julierpass. Aufgenommen vom Piz Corvatsch. Im Hintergrund rechts St. Moritz.
Der Palpuognasee liegt in den Albula-Alpen auf 1918 m ü. M. oberhalb von Preda im Schweizer Kanton Graubünden.

The day was a gift from heaven, because from the early morning until night accompanied us the blue sky and the white snowy mountains. It was even the first day of the new year that we could enjoy together in our beautiful homeland. We were happy, we had fun. In the afternoon we had a fine cup of coffee in a wonderful restaurant. On the trip home we could once again enjoy the mountains in the last sunlight. It was a winterday that we like to remember so much.

Der Morteratschgletscher ist ein Alpen-Gletscher in der Berninagruppe im Kanton Graubünden in der Schweiz. Wie nahezu alle Alpengletscher ist auch der Morteratschgletscher im Rahmen der globalen Erwärmung von umfassendem Schwund betroffen; so verkürzte er sich zwischen 1900 und 2017 um etwa 2500 Meter.

This house, built in 1775 and renovated in 1943, is pretty typical of the Engadine region of Switzerland (SE of the country near Italy and Austria). The historic buildings often have very thick walls, funnel shaped windows, and wall decorations which are either etched or painted.
