This was shot on London’s South Bank. These kids were playing as I walked past and the image seemed as if they were in a trench and peeking over the top to survey no-man’s-land and watch for the enemy. All whilst mum and dad looked on from behind. Canon EOS 6D & 28-80mm.

Lincoln's Carentan inspired me to build something, and I came up with this. I definitely think this is my best work yet, and the door hinge idea is Lincoln's design.

Comments are much appreciated!

OH, I almost forgot, the next part in the "Behind Enemy Lines" series will be up tomorrow, so stay tuned!

Did you ever hear the real-life story of the friendship between the lion, the tiger, and the bear? You can see it here:

It's easy to love those who love us but not so easy to 'love our enemies', yet this is what God wants us to do and through His love and grace working in our hearts, we can.

One of the things I enjoyed most during my Spring trip to Belarus, was the lovely Orthodox churches. This is a close up of the Saint Nicolas Church in the centre of Brest. I was in a group tour, which is actually the enemy of any decent photography, but I will try to find some more images of this fascinating country which I consider worth posting here.

🎶Oh, the misery

Everybody wants to be my enemy

Spare the sympathy🎶

We was talking about how time ran away through the ages and where it is better now to be friends than enemies and make wars. War is necessary only for unscrupulous people to enrich themselves and conquer by using the poor and the weak as pawns

In a realm cloaked in the folds of whimsy, nestled the land of Plushshire, where the sentient stufflings—Stufflepuffs and Tedwardians—dwelt in a fabric-bound fraternity. This was until the day the Revolt of the Cuddly Toys unfurled, stitching dissent between the Hoppington Hares of Fluffborough and the Bearington Bears of Pawston.

Our plush protagonist, Sir Cuddleton Patchworthy, was a Bearwardian of great renown. His valor was famed throughout the Tusslemeadows of Thimbleton, and in the fray, he became threadbare, a hero frayed but not defeated.

Sir Cuddleton, knight of the revered Wovenkeep, possessed knowledge of the arcane Twirlwinds—a spellthread capable of reweaving the most tattered of toy souls. In his recovery, tended by the crafty paws of Madam Purlina Webwhisker, the sage of Seams, Patchworthy contemplated the raveled threads of war.

The Neverolds, eternal children of Plushshire, observed the fray through teary glass eyes. In their wisdom, they conceived a plot most playful: the Larkspur Labyrinth, a playground so beguiling that no stuffed soldier could resist its siren song of serenity. Here, in this haven of hilarity, the disheartened warriors laid down their cotton cudgels and embraced their erstwhile enemies.

Sir Cuddleton Patchworthy, now adorned with the emblem of empathy began his most important quest. He traversed Plushshire, from the cushiony hills of Napvale to the silken sands of Drowsy Dunes, spinning tales of solace and stitching unity into the fabric of every toy's being.

And so, the yarn of the Revolt of the Cuddly Toys unwound to an uneasy stillness. Plushshire was suspended in a delicate balance, as if the very air held its breath. Sir Cuddleton Patchworthy, erstwhile warrior, now dubbed 'The Tranquil,' became a legend in hush tones and half-whispers.

For in the shadows of playtime's joy and the soft echoes of laughter, there lingered a thread of unease. The Neverolds knew, as all who've watched the cycle of tales unfold, that darkness can restitch itself anew. And as the moonlight danced upon the Larkspur Labyrinth, they wondered quietly: would the stitches of peace hold, or would they unravel in the silent whispers of the night?

The Enemies by Daniel Arrhakis (2015)

People of the same universe ... ancient races who fight for the stardust ... where are the heavens that our ancestors saw? Where are the worlds they conquered?

Where are the love poems of old books that are already unread... because they no longer know how to read ... or have forgotten ... how to feel the words ...

The city burned behind him, flames licking the sky, chaos unraveling in every direction. But he didn’t flinch. His grip was steady, his golden eyes locked on the target, a perfect storm of danger and precision.

"You have one chance," he growled, his voice low, menacing. "Tell me where the drive is."

The enemy smirked, defiant. The trigger finger tightened. A moment suspended in time.

And then—

Click.

Silence.

He blinked. Pulled the trigger again. Click.

His expression remained deadly serious, but the truth was unavoidable.

"...Okay, so I definitely forgot to reload," he muttered under his breath, reaching into his pocket. "Uh, can you give me a sec?"

The enemy just stared.

Somewhere in the flames, an explosion erupted. Dramatic. Intense.

"Yeah, no worries," his arch enemy finally said, crossing his arms. "Take your time, man."

CLICK - he reloads

"Right...I'm ready.. now .. where we.. oh yea... [STARING HARD]...Tell me where the drive is."

RING RING....RING RING...

"oh FFS... hold on again...please....

While many innocent Ukrainians loose their lives because against the facist russian regime, life seems to continue like normal in Russia. Although, more or less like normal. 6 times a week russian rail operator RZD runs a train between Moscow and their exclave Kaliningrad. Although these trains are seen as a domestic train, normal russians can't take it without a permit. Because the train crosses Lithuania between Belarus and Kaliningrad, and the russians see this country as the enemy. But then again, did they are treat the Lithuanian people as their friend and ally?

During a moderate winter's day, train 030Ч from Kaliningrad to Moscow ran quite a bit late. As the Lituanian railways are responsible for hauling this train within their own borders, one of their modern ER20 loco's was in front of the train. With about 13 hours delay ER20-004, one of their recently repainted loo's, ran the train from Kybertai to Kena.

Since they are of the same species, it'd be very vital to at least have some similarities...hence legs.

The Fort of Sant'Andrea in Venice is a fortress built in the middle of '500 on the ruins of previous defensive works now in ruins, part of the defensive system of the Venice lagoon.

The work was designed by architect Michele Sanmicheli Verona (1484-1559), commissioned by the Venetian government to safeguard access by considered more dangerous sea, barring the way, with the artillery, a possible enemy fleet.

The fort is located on the homonymous island of St. Andrew (which is located at the island of Vignole) and consists of a main building, built on the remains of the original fifteenth-century tower, and an outer rampart behind which the batteries were placed. The openings in the bastion, rectangular, almost at water were placed to sweep the horizon with the shot and hit as close as possible to the water line of the enemy vessels.

From a formal point of view the structure is interesting as a whole but the part most architecturally pleasing is the front where they open the central door and two side arches of equal measure. On the front of the tower there is a plaque commemorating the Battle of Lepanto topped by a relief of the lion of St. Mark. On top of the tower there is a terrace where the floor suggests the water collection function, conveyed in a central opening. On the side facing the sea there is an interesting bearer or bearer in Istrian stone.

WWI RE8 bi-plane taken at Old Warden.

Losses of aircraft and crew were massive, young lads barely 18 yrs old were given flying lessons, basic training, then sent to fight. Most were shot down and killed with a matter of days ...

During World War I, the lumbering Reconnaissance Experimental 8 was the most widely used British two-seater biplane on the Western Front. A descendant of the R.E.7, it was initially developed for reconnaissance work but also saw service as a bomber and ground attack aircraft. Nicknamed the "Harry Tate," after a well known music hall performer of the day, it provided a stable platform for photographic missions but suffered from poor maneuverability, leaving it vulnerable to attack by enemy fighters. Despite heavy losses, the R.E.8 remained in service throughout the war.

On the morning of 13 April 1917, 59 Squadron's ill fated flight of six R.E.8s was on a photo-reconnaissance mission near Douai when it encountered Jasta 11. All six R.E.8s were shot down within a matter of minutes, one of them becoming Manfred von Richthofen's forty first victory.

"Jastas 11" : (Royal Prussian Jagdstaffel 11 ("No 11 Fighter Squadron") was founded on 28 September 1916 from elements of 4 armee's Keks 1, 2 and 3 and mobilized on 11 October as part of the German Air Service's expansion program, forming permanent specialised fighter squadrons, or "Jastas". It became the most successful fighter squadron in the German Air Service
