'abandoned chair 2'
When the earthquake struck just before 1pm on 22 Feb 2011 the Cathedral Square was busy with inner city people taking lunch and tourists visiting the Cathedral. Although the steeple collapsed into a pile of rubble, no one was injured here.
I recently submited another, broader view of this scene for 'League of the Empty Chair' approval. Perhaps it was too subtle and this chair went unnoticed in the scene. It was rather in the "Where's Wally" vein.

For our two-week trip, we went to the same area, where we were in December, 2013, but this time we stayed at the RIU Palace Tenerife hotel, similar standard to the Grand Tacande, where we were last time. The food was a bit better at the Grand Tacande, but the building facade of the RIU Palace looks better in my opinion. The staff is very friendly. The dinner buffet seems way overpriced, though, and I'm glad we didn't book it (we tried it for one night). Wireless internet is provided free in the lobby, but there is no internet in the rooms (the one in the lobby worked fine). At the time of booking they promised that a bottle of water per day would be included with the room, but there was only one bottle delivered on the first day, and they even tried to charge us for that one. However, the water at the supermarket was cheap, and we didn't complain.

The spoons? Perhaps to discourage people from sitting? Was the person who inserted the spoons, the same person who left the chair here? How long has it been here? Is it still in the same location? Why was it left here? Has anyone sat on it ? Despite the spoons?
I don't know the answer to any of these questions, however I am prepared to investigate if required. My only involvement with the whole sorry saga, was to become aware of this apparition and to photograph it. I feel it has been a positive experience, all in all, and I can only hope that I've become a better man for it.
