Doors looked extremely delightful to enter at the Gondi tribal village at Adilabad, Andhra Pradesh.

black is better!

After hearing the reports of what it was like up in Oceanside today, I guess I'm even more stoked that I decided to ride the bike on down to Ponto and shoot solo.

Saw this near the beach in Naha City, Okinawa, Japan.

Must be a market of some kind on the weekends.

Empty House

Empty house

Sitting on a ridge

Shelter to the enemy

Meat surprise

Dead in the yard

And hanging on a dying tree

It's your broken home

Every man alone

Is an empty house.....

Empty Box. Yes. This is an empty box. It's a heavy, double-walled, empty box. There's even a small face in this box on the bottom right from the top edge. This box will soon be filled with a lot of books. And many other boxes will be filled with a lot of books. And these books will be shipped tomorrow to a warehouse in the midwest, where Amazon employees will receive, unpack, and shelve these books. And then these books will be purchased by Amazon customers, and be read, and be put on shelves, and passed on to their friends, or donated to their library.

And so it begins....

Naypidaw, the new capital of Myanmar/Burma, was built in the middle of nowhere between Yangon and Mandalay, and is mostly empty. Coming into the city on the train, one could see miles and miles of long, brightly lit boulevards, which were completely empty. A remarkable and uncanny scene after passing through the dark countryside, where cooking fires and the occasional battery powered lantern were the only points of light.

These new and empty seats on the platform of the large new and empty train station - where no one got on and only one person got off - were a human scaled embodiment of this monumental void of a national capital.

I enjoyed taking photos of temple cats (with or without cherry blossoms) before I moved.

Unfortunately there are almost no temples in a walking distance in my current neighborhood. I, however, found this temple when I took a walk in the new direction today.

And yes, there IS a cat there, too!

It was resting in the corridor of the temple's main building. You can see an empty bird cage behind it.

Doesn't it look ominous(^_^;)?

Our Daily Challenge: Hollow

These houses are empty!!! Why do you have to pay so much for them? ...I guess I'm just a little upset because I lost at Monopoly. Wife and daughter conspired against me. I think Jaiden would have beat me too except he lost patience for the game before that happened. I was able to arrange to get one single monopoly: The Oranges, lead by New York Ave... but it was not enough this time.

You can see a green light in one of the windows if you view it larger. Kind of curious

This is not my home actually, but my old home is just the same as this flat.

Emptying the ashpit at Llanfair used to be an arduous task. Thankfully the practice of dumping the ash at suitable sites along the line has ceased and it is now loaded into skip and taken away by a 'hazardous waste contractor'

So many names - almost more than we can bear.

The Empty Skies monument, to the 746 New Jersey residents who were killed in the September 11, 2001 attacks. New Jersey was the home of 1/4 of the people killed - only New York had more. Each monument is 208 feet and 10 inches long - the same length as a side of the trade towers. They are about 30 feet high, and as you walk between the two of them, you see the trade center site directly ahead.

Taken at Liberty State Park, Jersey City, New Jersey, across the Hudson River. Hazy, foggy, drizzly conditions tonight, with low cloud cover. Ten year anniversary. It doesn't feel like 10 years.

This is my hive from the back. Empty and waiting for the bees. All my tools are ready around it. In the background, you can see the tub of water I've set up for them (with an "escape stick").

This is not black and white. That didn't work for me, this has had most of the colour faded out, and the contrast and exposure has been altered slightly.

I took this on my way home from work, the road was strangely quiet and I was thinking about the sad news of the passing of the actor Michael Clarke Duncan aged 54. May that gentle giant rest in piece.
