I recall an article that claimed you couuld tell by the shape of the coal load which mine loaded the train.
Manufactured by Emerson-Brantingham in Rockford, Illinois, advertised with a 2-page color spread in the February 5, 1916 Country Gentleman.
Onieda & Western SD40-2's 9955, 9952, and SCL SD45-2 2055 lead a coal train near Emerson, GA.

One of the many colourful sunset, during my visit to Florida. This shot was taken off Emerson Point, I was driving and this sky was turning into these magnificent colours. I just had to stop and take a photo.

Southern view of the eastern arête of Mt Emerson, during a rare break in the clouds while shooting in the Buttermilk hills. This is a single exposure.
Emerson Park is the intermediate station on the Romford-Upminster branch, now electrified. Back in 1979 it was Emerson Park Halt and was served by DMUs, in this case a 2-car Cravens unit, which has attracted some custom on this Saturday afternoon.
Note the absence of tail lights. But then all there is behind the train is plain line and a set of buffer stops.
One of several parks at the mouth of the Manatee River in Manatee County, FL, Emerson Point Preserve protects waters along the southernmost portions of Tampa Bay and the Manatee River outlet. In a relatively small area, it offers a lot to see in an extremely pleasant walk. Visitors are treated to glimpses of salt marsh, mangrove swamp, and pristine beach. An observation tower perched on a hill provides sweeping views of the preserve, the Manatee River, and the bay, complete with the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in the background.
This park is opposite of Robinson Preserve, another Manatee County Park. Both parks are pleasant and offer a lot of similarities, but I did prefer Emerson Point owing to its easier accessibility to the park's best features (Most visitors to Robinson will need to take a three mile hike, much of it open and all of it flat, to experience it).
