For the #MacroMondays theme for 2/12, we have been tasked with presenting anachronisms- old fashioned artifacts. Embossing pages with a stamp or creating book plates seems to fit the bill. These days if readers keep track of their actual books, it’s probably done digitally or on kindles.
Later I’ll post a picture of the embossing tool.
Finally got my hands on some fancy embossing folders, here's the results. Vanilla cupcake with vanilla buttercream and fondant.
A simple design using this Stampin' Up stamp set - I have made lots of these cards in different colors and sizes.

Emboss painting is an innovative medium to craft an image. It’s basically done on cloth. This form of painting excites the visual senses as well as it motivates and encourages the sense of creativity within an individual. Embossing generally provides an image with a 3D character by raising the surface of the cloth upwards. Embossing can also be done on soft metal to get that same kind of visual effect.
MATERIALS USED:
1.black Velvet cloth
2.emboss solution
3.colors (fabric pearl colours for good finish)
4. brush
5. designs of your choice.
METHOD:
1. Trace the design u want on the velvet cloth.
2. Mix the emboss solution with water in the proportion of 3:2.
3. Paint the solution all over the design and wait for 24 hrs to get it dry.
4. After 24 hrs apply hot iron on the back side of velvet cloth (plain side).
5. Now can use the paint the designs using pearl colours as per the requirement of the design.
Here's a closeup of the stamp on the back cover of my new coptic bound book - I got it from The Corporate Connection, located in nearby Salem MA

A 1881 cabinet card by W & D Downey of London and Newcastle - photographers to the Queen.
Christine Nilsson born Sweden 20th August 1843 died Sweden 20th November 1921.
She made her debut during 1864 and was what would be called now days – a mega star.
While she did not make any records there are numerous photos to attest to the fact that she possessed great charm and beauty.

# W. & D. Downey were Victorian studio photographers operating in London from the 1860s to the 1910s. The backing card is printed with a fancy illustrated advertisement for the photographer showing numerous royal coats of arms and royal patronage.
# The detail is the imprint at the bottom of the reverse of the card and is the manufacturer and printer of the backing card for the photograph. It reads ~ embossed - "Marion & Co London" and printed - "Marion Imp Paris" and is the imprint of A. Marion & Co. 23 Soho Square, London.
Embossing is a unique way to add a touch of class to your business cards.
Adds glamour and prestige for all kinds of businesses including architects, designers, craftspeople, restaurants, law firms, finance companies and much more.
Embossing works by pressing into the reverse side of the card to create a raised 3D surface, which adds life and texture to your print job.
In the past embossing was prohibitively expensive and was typically kept only for those special high-end print jobs. Now with changes to technology and production processes, embossing is now well within reach of your budget.
