The whole beach is littered with concrete of various shapes and sizes. At first we thought it was anti-landing craft defences, but judging by the falling cliffs suspect that they are the remains of a WWII lookout/defence station. It saddens one to think that this was required in the last 100 years, but even more so when you notice the poor quality of the concrete and the use of mine rails as structural support in the blocks. It was hastily erected and the sea is now claiming it back.
