Shockoe Bottom Brunswick Stew Festival 2012 with Nikon D800, 50mm f1.8g and 20mm f2.8d, with SB700 Strobe
This is a photograph from the Clane and Rathcoffey Parishes annual 10KM and 5KM Road Races and Fun Runs which were held in Clane village, Co. Kildare, Ireland on Sunday 19th of October at 14:30. This year's event follows on from the very successful staging last year (see link to photographs below). The organisers offer both a 5km and 10km race and the event provides an opportunity for runners, joggers, and walkers of all abilities to take part in the event. The 5KM has a particular emphasis on family entrants. There was a wonderful atmosphere around the Village as both races started and finished on the main street outside the parish hall. The directly out-and-back routes provided an opportunity for a fast time on a good course and made for a great finish line atmosphere as runners, joggers, and walkers crossed the line. Great praise must be extended to the whole organising committee who organised a very efficiently run event. The events provide some runners with an opportunity to have a final race effort session in the week leading up to the Dublin City Marathon.
Event Management and Electronic Timing was provided by Irish company Precision Timing. Their website is here with links to results from the race www.precisiontiming.net/result/racetimer
This photograph is part of a larger set of photographs taken at today's event. Photographs were taken at the start, 400 meters gone, 400 meters to go, 1km gone, and at the 9KM/4KM mark. The URL of the full set of photographs is www.flickr.com/photos/peterm7/sets/72157636717081724/

Overall Race Summary and Logistics
Participants: There were about 200 competitors combined in the two events.
Weather: The weather was very changeable for all of the events. During the 10KM race there was a heavy rain shower around the area of the 6KM mark but this didn't actually fall in the town. There was a strong headwind against competitors in the 10KM on the return part of the course between 6KM and 8KM.
Race Course:
This summary includes information on both the 5KM and 10KM races.
Both races start in the same place - just outside the Race HQ on the main street of the town. The races then proceed north eastwards out the Dublin Road towards Straffan and Celbridge. Just after 400 meters the races take a left up a small local road and proceeds along this road until it takes a tight left hand turn at the end of the lane at Capdoo goo.gl/maps/aPo26 (Google Streetview). The route proceeds until it shortly meets the Clane-Kilcock Road - College Road R407 goo.gl/maps/SGcPa. Both races will divert into Clane Business and Industrial Park goo.gl/maps/EQMf0 . The 5KM turns around and returns on the same route to the finish. However the 10KM race continues (taking a left) back onto College Road. Soon afterwards it passes the famous entrance to Clongowes Wood College on the right the race takes the next left (goo.gl/maps/zUhrJ) and brings runners onto the road known locally as the 'Long Road' (R408 Between Rathcoffey and Prosperous) at this point goo.gl/maps/fHKr2. The race proceeds northward until runners meet the Clane Kilcock Road once again. With the exception of the partial run into the Industrial Estate the race returns to the finish on the main street in Clane via the same route as the outward part of the route.
Location Map:
Clane Parish Hall (Race HQ) goo.gl/maps/MgakJ
Start and Finish Location of both races goo.gl/maps/0wiZp
Refreshments:
There was a really wonderful array of refreshments provided in the parish hall after the race for all participants.

Please note: These links are provided for information purposes. Some of these links might become obselete or dead links as time passess. We cannot be responsible for the content on these external websites. All websites were checked before posting here to ensure that they 'did what they said on the tin'.
Can I use these photographs directly from Flickr on my social media account?
Yes - of course you can. Flickr provides several ways to share this and other photographs in this Flickr set. You can share to: email, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblr, LiveJournal, and Wordpress and Blogger blog sites. Your mobile device will also offer you several different options for sharing this photo page on your social media outlets.
How can I get full resolution copies of these photographs?
To prevent missue of these photographs there is a watermark embedded into the images. All of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution without the watermark. We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. Our only "cost" is our request that if you are using these images without the watermark: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us.
This also extends the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.
Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.
In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting does take a significant effort. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc.
If you would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?
Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.
I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
Don't like your photograph here?
That's OK! We understand!
If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.
I want to tell people about these great photographs!
Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

Other stuff
For other Mirai Gaia powered websites, wait for the release announcements from each of my clients. Good Smile Company will be using this function for internal use initially this week.
Your generated email address is a secret - do not tell anybody apart from your best 2D friend. Anybody who gets hold of your secret email will be able to post things under account name.
If your secret email address was compromised (you wrote it on your forehead by accident for example) then go back to your Edit Profile page and generate another one email address - the previous one will be rendered unusable.
The subject of the mail is used as the title of your post. If you forget to add a subject then the server date is used.
Your post should show up in a few seconds after you sent the mail - a bit longer for mails with more than a handful of images.
You can send up to about 30 images up to a total of 10MB.
No limit to what you can post - just be sensible.
The body of the mail is used for the description of the post.
You can use the poll and youtube syntax in the body of the mail like:-
[poll=1265029467670]Is Nanoha a cutie?:Yes:You bet[/poll]
and
[yt=youtubedhere]
You can post many polls in a single post - just make sure the poll id is unique for each poll like "poll=uniqueid_here_and_can_be_anything"
So for example:-
[poll=1265029467670]Question goes here?:Answer1:Answer2[/poll]
You can set the category of the post by adding a [cat=urlcode] in the body. For example:-
[cat=figures]
[cat=dollfie]
[cat=otaku]
If you want to post into another specific category, then you need to have a look at the url category code. So for example:-
www.figure.fm/page/en/post/all/figures/all/all/all/publis...
The url category code here would be "figures" so:-
[cat=figures]
If you want to keep your post hidden after you post it so that you can edit it manually after, all you need to do is add a [visible=false] to the email body.
So an example mail I would compose would look like:-
A photo of Nanoha looking cute.
[poll=1265029467670]Is Nanoha a cutie?:Yes:You bet[/poll]
[cat=dollfie]
After attaching a few images and hitting send, a few seconds later, your post will appear on figure.fm. It will be posted under your account name and you can go in and edit as usual.Just one thing to keep in mind. Even though you can create posts from photos taken on your mobile, please try not to post anything blurry meaning that you should not be intoxicated or playing with your dolphin while taking photos which would cause blur. You especially don't want to take a photo *of* your dolphin and post it by accident.If everything does not work then its because:-
You sent huge file sizes - post something in sensible sizes - a few hundred K per image.
You sent more than 30 images in one go. If you are posting by mail then you would probably not want to send so many anyway.
You tried to attach your cat to the email. jpg, png or gif only please.
You have an old secret email registered as a contact in your mail app but you generated a new secret email.
You didn't attach any images.
You didn't send the mail.
Its not plugged in or you ran out of batteries.
You are dead and cant send mail.
You don't have a computer or any means to send mail.
You put photos in an envelope and wrote the secret email on it.
You don't have a camera and therefore cant take photos and thus cant attach images to an email.
You tried to attach photos to an email using tape and glue.
You got no keyboard and thus cant type the email.
You got no display and thus cant compose an email.
You sent the email to customer support at Mc Donalds.
You got no Internet connection.
You cant type an email because your hands are cuffed to the bollocks of an elephant.
Aoi-chan does not like you.Will be releasing an app for the iPhone called the MG Uploader which will work with any Mirai Gaia powered sites soon.
Hope you like the feature!

Top religious leaders condemn Pastor Terry Jones
Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Archbishop of Mumbai, leads gathering to
denounce the Florida-based pastor’s attempt to burn Quran to
commemorate 9\11 anniversary
Mumbai, September 1, 2010: In a strong show of solidarity, leading
religious heads in Mumbai gathered today at the Archbishop House to
denounce the highly irresponsible and inconsiderate statements made by
Pastor Terry Jones in the USA, giving rise to extremism and hatred. As
it is known, Senior Pastor Terry Jones, Florida, (Pastor of Dove World
Outreach Center of Gainesville) has threatened to burn the Quran
(Koran) to commemorate 9/11 in the United States of America.
Condemning Pastor Terry Jones’s anti-Islamic stance was none other
Cardinal Oswald Gracias, Archbishop of Mumbai along with Bishop
Prakash Patole, Church of North India, Rev. Dr. Victor Gollapalli,
Secretary, Maharashtra Council of Churches and Aux Secretary of the
Bible Society of India, H T Sangliana, Vice Chairman, National
Commission for Minorities Commission, Naseem Sidiqui, Chairman,
Maharashtra state Minorities Commission and Abraham Mathai, Vice
Chairman, Maharashtra state Minorities Commission, along with leaders
of different faiths – Judaism, Muslim, Hinduism and Jainism.
Leading its support to the gathering is United Christian Voice, a
voluntary organisation comprising of different Christian
denominations. In a statement, the organisation has informed that they
have nothing to do with Sr. Pastor Terry Jones and as peace loving
Christians they do not believe in hatred or violence. “Fear, suspicion
and hatred fuels the flame of communal disharmony and conflict and
that is the reason why are gathering together to stand against this
move. As Christians, it is against the tenets of Christianity, the Ten
Commandments of the Lord and every single instruction in the Bible to
create disharmony amongst any community – which is what is being
indicated by the actions of Terry Jones.”
The stance taken by Mahatma Gandhi, father of the nation on this issue
remains an eye-opener. The Mahatma regarded Islam as a religion of
peace in the same sense as Christianity, Buddhism, and Hinduism. He
said, "My reading of the Quran has convinced me that the basis of
Islam is not violence but is unadulterated Peace. It regards
forbearance as a superior to vengeance. The very word "Islam" means
Peace, which is non-violence. My experience of all India tells me that
the Hindus and the Muslims know how to live in Peace among themselves.
I decline to believe that the people have said goodbye to their
senses, so as to make it impossible to live at Peace with each other,
as they done for generations. The enmity cannot last forever."
The humanity that India represents today is a product of a
civilization that is over 12,000 years old. The spirit of peace and
tolerance is the hallmark of this civilization. When Jesus Christ, the
Prince of Peace, was born the Bible according to Luke Chapter II,
Verse 13-14 tells us, “And suddenly there was with the angel a
multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying Glory to God
in the highest, and on earth peace, good will towards all men.”
The gathering was aimed to tell everyone, including the Muslim
brethren that they collectively condemn Pastor Terry Jones stance and
we stand in solidarity towards a peaceful and harmonious future
together.
Let no man nor woman with individualistic motivations influence our
perception of each other. Let us unite to show the world we are but
one nation under God.

I participated in Beginner Line Dance class at the Senior Center. Then I worked out with my trainer at the country club fitness center. Next I drove to Publix and bought some groceries for us. I did not have water aerobics or swim lesson today. My teacher had a meeting at work plus it was sprinkling rain and lightning.
BTW: It has been neat communicating with David; in Dublin, Ireland; about my upcoming trip there. He has been very helpful with information.

James, Here are a few pics I took of the tornado damage around Tuscaloosa
County. From Fosters ( where it crossed hwy 11 and 20/59 ) to Tuscaloosa. My
brother and I watched this storm from the Greene/ Sumter County line as it
followed the interstate up to Tuscaloosa. My chat was down so I couldn't
report. But I'm glad everyone was ok from this particular storm. Thanks,

Sydney, Jan 07’
Dear anh Paul,
Girl.
I went by Kelly Tours and picked up some catalogs to give out to friends. Then I stopped in at Publix for 4 items. I had to pay with cash. My credit card has been compromised & used for a fraudulent purchase; so, it had to be cancelled. Fortunately, the new one arrived in today's mail. Then I participated in Intermediate Line Dance class at the Woodvalley Community Center. It was hard today - fast, new, and difficult routines. I just sat down on one of the dances. Next I worked out with my trainer at the VCC Fitness Center. I had planned to go to water aerobics & have a swim lesson, but thunder and lightning changed those plans. I just drove home. Jim and I ate supper together and watched a Murdoch Mystery on a Netflix DVD.
