These are pictures taken from the stern of the Sea Princess at the captain was going full speed ahead north to flee Hurricane Thomas. We were to dock at Martinique on Saturday, October 30th when the captain told us that the hurricane was just east of the island and that we would be going north to escape it. We were to dock at St. Lucia on Sunday, but of course that was cancelled as well. We did see damage at Barbados as we left the ship and went to the airport to return home.

Mr. James Spann,

I also had taken these photos that evening but did not get a chance to send

them to you as well. The last 3 photos show a 3-part picture of the entire

shelf cloud advancing towards the shopping center I am in. If you ever have

been to the Cullman Wal-Mart, there is a strip center in the back. Moxi Java

is a coffee store located at the end of that strip center next to a movie

theater. That is where I stood as I watched this system approach.

People in the stores around me heard the sirens and, instead of staying in

the buildings where they would be safest, decided to drive home and be on

the road instead. I had convinced the people in the Moxi Java store to stay

put, and they agreed they would not leave until the storm had passed.

We did not have any damage up here. there were some empty shopping carts

being blown around, but it did not appear to cause damage.

Thanks for your excellent weather coverage. You and your team are the best

in Alabama. God Bless you all.

Sincerely,

Dirk Baeuerle

Afterwards I play Chickenfoot (dominoes)with friends at the Senior Center. It rained very hard this afternoon while I was at the center and while I was driving home. Jim brought me a Burger King salad with grilled chicken, apple, cranberries, and blue cheese.

I called Social Security today. They said that I was not eligible for any benefits. I have to call again to understand about Medicare. Well, Jim has to call them and discuss our options about using our current insurance. All confusing to me.

Well, I didn't actually verbally speak to my mom today, but she gave me some great news about a childhood friend in an email. Plus, she sent me a Target gift card for my birthday!

It must be disheartening for Skype, which has an office in London, to see this as "Breaking News." The company's been at this for two years. Google Talk just started today.

A special Valentines gift Cake.

Today my TV e-mailed me at work to let me know that it would be pre-empting SpongeBob so it could tape basketball.

Everything is going to be okay.

The normal trendline has just ticked over to a projected finish of 12th July.

However, adding an additional trendline for this new 'Tuffmail faffing event horizon', we see that the projected date for Tom Coates Inbox Zero event is now 5th September.

There seems to be a correlation between clearing email and being on holiday in europe.

Here are photos of the tornado forming, along with a description of each.

My friend, Nick Lee, is a storm spotter. He and I were out taking these

photos that day. He is the copyright owner and has given me permission to

share them with you.

P.S.: Please use the descriptions somehow in your description of the photos.

Description of photos:

Tornado-1: shows the storm coming around the corner into view.

Tornado-2: Inflow notch seen - this is where the air feeding the updraft was

located at.

Tornado-3 & 4: Tornado on ground getting closer to City of Cullman. At this

point it was passing Good Hope and going through Cullman County.

Tornado-5: Here you can see another vortex forming. What we were witnessing

was a rapid intensification of this storm from an EF2 to a multi-vortex EF4.

Tornado-6: Even though the funnel is hard to see, the tornado was still on

the ground. Here you can see the multiple vortexes spinning around the one

in the middle that looks like it is invisible.
