Series made using fundamental, natural elements. These natural elements and compounds are collected at the site of the picture - usually at the location depicted within the photograph. The depicted scene you see here is created not just by light on film but by melding samples of elements and organic matter from the scene into the film development process where subject and medium are married together, the resulting image created from the scene itself.
No collating or cutting and pasting of external or internal elements into the picture in Photoshop or similar editor has taken place.

The water flows unstoppably downwards, and the fire dances upwards. Air itself cannot be seen, but it feeds the flames in the spaces between, and is in the water's foam. Earth is represented by the rocks that contain the water's flow or the coal that feeds the fire.
It is made with polymer clay and metallic powder for the gold and touches of acrylic paint to antique and bring out the texture. The pendant is approximately 7cm in length.
I can't think of anything to say about this one! Except it's a sunset on Plum Island and I was messing about with focus. Obviously.

Before my tattoo was finished. I love my tattoo, but damn my arm is sore. It was really swollen yesterday, still is a bit today, but not too bad. I'm not sleeping well because of it too since I can't turn over! ugh! I hate that. Oh well, in about a week I'll be able to I guess.
In my element. I was trying to accomplish a different shot, but I liked how this turned out, so it gets used.
I had a really good weekend, I hope everyone else did too. I just hate it's Monday already!

Last night, I was sitting in our backyard with my wife, Veronica, as the sun was setting. The sky was painted delicate hues of pinks and blues. Then, there was an approaching sound of thunder in the distance and a chilly breeze that usually accompanies a powerful storm. The sky that was already beautiful, took on a bolder character of light and shadows and more dynamic colors. Within minutes, the sky was a deep, dark gray, and we had to head inside because the rains came. These are some pictures of the sky as the thunderstorm approached.
At first I wasn't sure if this shot was a keeper, the RAW file was pretty bland and boring.
After playing around in LightRoom I came up with this, which I really like.
Using LightRoom I tried to create 3 distinctive layers or "elements" in the shot by adjusting contrast, sharpness and clarity.
I think the shot now exhibits a clear foreground the stone shishi, mid section being the tree and background the Torii.
