Slightly updated PCB. Now the boards are blue, the pads are gold plated, only 1mm thick and the silkscreen has been revised and now shows Arduino pin functions for PORTC and PORTD.
This batch of 25 boards was made by MakePCB.com - very affordable but also quite slow. My first order took about 5 weeks. GoldPhoenix just took about 1 week, but at a higher price.
Some old equipment that I did a trade deal back in the 70's. The tall rack on the right was a complete Collins HF CW, Phone Transmitter used by the Galveston Coast Guard back in the early days. Not sure of the model. Wish I had kept it, it would be worth its weight in gold today.
Robot3 has an IR rangefinder, one of my STM32 development boards and an xbee radio running the new ZB firmware. There's also a small motor controller board hidden inside the old battery compartment as well as a 900mAh lipo. The rear two wheels are driven by one motor which is speed controlled by a PWM output from the STM32, while the front two have another motor on a rack and pinion that steers them and is driven by a simple high or low signal from the STM32.
The car can be manually remote controlled over the xbee wireless link but automatically backs away from detected obstacles. Alternatively it can simply drive forwards until it detects an obstacle, then reverse away.
Development slowed once I got the parts for the somewhat more interesting quadcopter UAV.

Some shots from the electronics flea market. I took these around 11 when I was done browsing, so a lot of vendors had already left or started packing up.

This is a Signal Generator. This URM-25 was made for the Navy by Federal Manufacturing & Engineering Corp. of Brooklyn, N.Y.
My sample was made for the "Navy Department - Bureau of Ships" and probably dates to the early 1960's. This thing is a beast! It weighs about 25 pounds and is built like a tank. It appears to work well (I have tested it). My one criticism is that the frequency divisions appear to be a bit coarse. It may be that I just don't know how to read it correctly.
This one will be a bear to clean up. It has paint spills (upper left corner), tape marks, and permanent marker labels all over it. But then that's how I get these things for almost nothing. Serial number is 214.
(I'm told you can hook a microphone up to these and get on the AM band, just like those Fisher-Price radio mikes.)
-and yes, I do have the cover but the manual and all the accessories except one are gone. I got a Navy manual off the Internet ...some 90 pages...have to read it sometime.-

If you hadn't guessed from yesterday's freaky looking pictures, we got a new lens to play with... The Canon 10-22mm! It's a really fun lens and I've enjoyed learning how to use it to create unique images and play with the distortion that it creates being almost a fisheye lens.
