The Elektor Junior computer was the first 6502-based microprocessor system published by Elektor.
Programming was done in machine language by typing in the hexadecimal codes on the 23-key keyboard. The display consisted of 6 7-segment LED-displays.
I uploaded the CAD files describing my circuit board to a web site on the internet and clicked a few buttons. Suddenly in a state far away, robots spun to life, manufacturing my circuit boards. They arrived in the mail here at Caltech four days later. (I could also have asked the robots to solder in all the components, but I elected to do that by hand.)

The controller for my lightstrip.
The microphone listens to the music and sends the signal through an LM386 amplifier. This then goes to the ATtiny13 which analyses the signal. It determines a running average volume, and lights the LEDs if the current volume exeeds this by a certain scaler. As a result, the LEDs always flash with the peaks and are off normally, no matter how high the volume (until the amplifier starts clipping, anyway!).

Front side completed and cleaned. This laminated white solder stop mask is great! Virtually indestructible with my soldering iron.

A while back I became fascinated with Nick Veasey's xray photography. I figured there must be a way I could create images with a similar end result but bypassing the need for the actual technology (and all the radiation that comes with it).
So while I was taking apart my Kaossilator to fix, I figured I would give this a try. To start, I took images of each of the individual parts. I then turned all of the images to b&w and inverted them. I then brought all of the images into one file as separate layers and began to align them while adjusting the opacity of each. After a bit of experimenting and some touching up, this is what I came up with.
Next project will be doing this with a camera I'm planning to take apart to convert to infrared. No promises as to when I'll get that up here though.

I darkened the photo a bit to make the vertical lines more visible. The vertical and horizontal lines are much more visible on my iPhone 7 Plus screen.
I recommend moving back away from your monitor. That seems to help to see the vertical lines., and to a lesser degree, the horizontal lines.

I no longer have any electronic components at hand, and I was reluctant to destroy any image storage cards.. However, I have often been intrigued by the pixel-to-pixel noise on the focal plane sensor chips in modern digital cameras. To bring out the details, I photographed the side of a black bookcase illuminated by very dim light where sensor residual noise is most pronounced.
I processed the resulting noise using the filters in Apple's Photos app followed by the filters in Adobe's PS Express app on my iPhone 7 Plus.
By moving your eye around, you should see vertical and horizontal lines forming squares. These are some of the sensor chips or leakage drain channels in my iPhone 7 Plus digital camera.

When time permits I will show some of the dozens of screen captures of all the processing app filters I used to bring out the chip boundaries.
This result worked for me. I expect that each viewer will see the chip boundaries most clearly in their own favorite filter combo.

Got both chips soldered! One is an STM32 F103 chip which I hope to use, the other is an ST710 thing which is a bit smaller and less interesting but cheaper and easier to solder. Both were a bit of a pain though - pretty tiny! The largest chip is about half the size of my thumbnail.

My phone died recently. I think the charging circuit quit working, because it would recognize being plugged into power, but the battery never charged. It has since been replaced.
