So, at the same time as the Pygmy Corys I also got six black phantom tetra. Having had only guppies and goldfish before they are taking a bit of getting used to!
Pygmy Corys are meant to shoal with certain kinds of tetra, and luckily it seems to work with the black phantoms too... when threatened they immediately group up, corys in the middle. ( By threatened I mean, when I put the filter back in the tank)
Anyway, I couldnt tell the difference between the sexes when I got them, now I think I have 4 boys and two girls, but they dont seem to particularly harrass the girls, so hopefully this ratio will be ok!

Family Pet , free range hen a bit of a bully towards her fiends but a gorgeous character. Other than pretty thick.
This animal is a monotreme or egg-laying mammal. It lays eggs and it suckles its young. The platypus is the other monotreme in Australia.
And for friends in Europe and NZ, it is much bigger than, and unrelated to, a Hedgehog. They are 30 - 45 cm. long and weigh between two and seven kilograms / 4.5 - 15 pounds
4/10 Sculpt/Build update for Alien: Defiance Praetorian Egg Layer and Star Wars: Dark Times Dass Jennir (Out of the Wilderness Arc) - both 1:18 scale.
Mainly a casting update - A struggle to get the Praetorian Alien's hands successfully casted has finally been accomplished! Mainly due to the fact that I don't use a pressure chamber to remove the air from my castings. I usually don't cast anything larger than a 1/12 scale head sculpt when it comes to my figures and anything larger is usually an open mold similar to my Nostromo wall panels. So to invest in a pressure chamber hasn't be a high priority.
With this project, I have to trick the material using air vents through the mold....which I finally found the right setup that works.
What's great with these neutral hand sculpts is that I can take a heat gun and manipulate the digits to create several different hand positions. More to come with this beastie.
I have created a hat/hooded accessory for Dass Jennir that will allow the head to move independently inside when applied. The original was completely static, with the head and hood a single sculpt. I carved a lip within the hat so the head sculpt can move freely and not affect the paint work when applied.
Not photographed are some additional thigh articulation added to Skorr the Bounty Hunter. Updates for his sculpt is upcoming.
Thinking about some new figure sculpts of alien thugs using species from the Original Trilogy and the Dark Horse Expanded Universe. Not base of any specific character. More on that later.
More updates coming. Sometimes it's difficult to get away from the work to shoot some photos and post updates but after all these year, you'd think that wouldn't be an issue. LOL!
