"A ripple effect occurs when an initial disturbance to a system propagates outward to disturb an increasingly larger portion of the system, like ripples expanding across the water when an object is dropped into it."

This is not just a duck in a pond at sunset. It is a symbol of a phenomenon that we have all experienced directly in 2020. At one level the COVID-19 virus spread from one part of the world to everywhere very quickly like ripples on a pond. But not just the virus. The follow on effects of lock downs, loss of freedoms, jobs, security, pressure on medical systems, collapsing economies, all point to the ripple effect.

But ripple effects are not all bad either. In fact the same principle can lead to rapid solutions and even the healing of the world's woes. If we can find a way to create positive solutions to enhance the eco-system of our planet things can get better. But the choice is ours.

The Ochers, you hear about them whenever the Luberon is discussed,

but one can never imagine the effect of this natural phenomenon in real life!

These mountains are awe-inspiring, topographical gems that transport you to the American West in the blink of an eye.

“Making something and sending it out into the world and then people not only responding to it but adopting it for their own and making a separate thing for it, that’s beautiful. It just shows you how much you can affect other people… the butterfly effect of everything you put out into the world.” – Marketa Irglova

Re-post of an earlier photo. Kind of what I did before but I added the Adamski Effect and it turned out a little better

We were getting a lot of lake effect snow and squalls this weekend. This fishing boat was coming back into the Meaford harbour just in the nick of time.

I have not a clue why this [the stripes] happened to two pinholes in two different can cameras in two different rooms.

The Labrador Effect

Back to my post from yesterday for HSoS.

First of all, I would like to thank all the lovely Flickrities for the wonderful comments on yesterday's topic - title wanted - , everyone could have been right.

In my tags I announced that there would be a second photo, actually I should have posted it the other way around, but then the story would be a lie :)

On an autumn walk I suddenly heard a noise and it was anything but heavenly. The little rascal growled violently and it sounded like this: "Don't dare to come closer, or my huge friend will hug you" :-) and indeed, there he was! I then went on quickly ;-))

Can you see it? It wasn't predictable, the Labrador Effect ;-)))

Thanks for visiting and time to watch, happy Sunday , stay healthy, all!

PS

The two dogs are very happy and live and guard on a small horse farm, with adjoining small pond, a paradise for anglers. I'm only sad myself because I couldn't stroke them.

Take a moment to reflect about this: every action you have done, every step you have taken has led you to this point... It's beautiful chaos, isn't it? This theory is what they call "The Butterfly Effect."

The idea that even the small actions you do, have an effect on your life in ways we can't even imagine. So, close your eyes and realize the power you hold in your hands... Every selection, every moment adds to the storyline of your existence. Take a moment to contemplate on the beauty of it all.

This is a merged image of 3 sets of HDR. Since the low fog changed rapidly and HDR can present its 3D effect. Lake Kawaguchi Bridge is showing in the fog.

拍攝富士山雲海時,發現HDR比較能呈現雲海立體的感覺,所以拍攝了三組各七張的相片,組合成這張全景,下面若隱若現的是河口湖大橋。

Moiré effect is a visual perception that occurs when viewing a set of lines or dots that is superimposed on another set of lines or dots, where the sets differ in relative size, angle, or spacing. The moiré effect can be seen when looking through ordinary window screens at another screen or background. It can also be generated by a photographic or electronic reproduction, either deliberately or accidentally. (whatis.techtarget.com/definition/moire-effect )

Arizona Desert Walkabout. Unique editing.

I avoided any curves when building the Federations latest interceptor to give it a sharp edged, aggressive feel.

No curves except this excellent new canopy in trans yellow that is. For this we have @pixarslightyear and Angus MacLane to thank for.

Art Week Gallery Theme 2025

9 Aug.→ 16 Aug. our theme is:

~~~ Outdoor Spaces ~~~
Still going through some of my older photos I never got around to posting.
Created in photoshop from a standard photo
This is an inland lake we camped at last week. The day was grey but it made for better light in trying to capture this flowing water. Studies show that moving water gives off negative ions which is very therapeutic for our health and well being when we are near it. This effect definitely put me in a good mood.
