On November 22, 2024, lawmakers, educators, and law enforcement officers toured the NJ Youth ChalleNGe Academy at the National Guard Training Center in Sea Girt, NJ, during an open house event. Exemplary cadets guided the visitors through the facilities, including the dining hall, barracks, and schoolhouse, offering a glimpse into their daily lives. The cadets also shared the challenges they’ve overcome, such as being away from loved ones and learning to build relationships with peers from diverse backgrounds and cities across New Jersey. The National Guard Youth ChalleNGe program aims to provide at-risk youth with the structure, discipline, and education necessary to set them on a path to success, helping them build life skills, resilience, and confidence to achieve their goals.
