An unusual, pandemic-shortened Southwest Chief is framed by the MP 717 semaphores as it scoots westward on the Raton Subdivision between Colmor and Levy, NM. A couple days later, signal cabinets and concrete bases were dropped at several locations on this portion of the line, including here. Thus, this may in fact be the last shot from this spot "as-is" without a giant shiny silver box directly behind the westbound signal.

If you have ever "lost your marbles," it is best to contact someone who is smart enough to keep theirs safe in a jar.

Today's edition of Armchair Traveling takes me back to our Panama Canal Crossing. We were up long before dawn to be sure that we didn't miss any of the action. This image was taken at 6:15 a.m. We were leaving Limon Bay and entering the Canal, approaching the Gatun Lock.
Designed by Louis Berger. The joke is that this bridge, the third to cross the canal, scheduled for completion in 2016 but not finished until 2019, will allow the French to succeed at something on the Panama Canal where they failed in their attempt to build the Canal in the late 1800's.
The main span was joined in September 2018 (about 5 months after this image), and the bridge was finally opened in August of 2019. Total length 9,250 feet; 697 feet high.

Week 46-52 -2015 Edition - Theme - Bokeh
My photo for this weeks Bokeh theme is lighted candles. I changed from my original idea to lighted candles in memory of all those killed and injured in the atrocities in Paris. Also today 15 November is World Day of Remembrance for victims of road accidents. In Ireland over 23,000 people have lost their lives on Irish Roads since records began in 1959. Photo was taken in St. Brigid's Church, Cabinteely, Dublin, Ireland.
Used off centre focus on the candle on the left
Apologies to my old 365 gang who have seen this wooden sculpture in every 365 project I've ever attempted. ;)
