The lantern slides are from a series titled 'Psychic Photography From A New Angle' and feature eerie images of the supposedly paranormal and unknown forces caught on camera.
Very little is known of the origins of this collection. The slides were designed to accompany a lecture by a Mr C.P. MacCarthy of 15 Wilkinson Street, Sheffield.
Mr MacCarthy produced the images under test conditions in 1934 in front of an invited committee at 76 Clarkehouse Road, Sheffield. He states the intention was to ‘demonstrate under test conditions Fake Psychic Photography’ to this committee.
Mr MacCarthy states his three reasons for this demonstration.
1.To prove the possibility of Fake under test conditions.
2.To show you cannot be too critical of such phenomena.
3.To indicate the increasing scope for fraud with the probability of genuine spirit photography.
Mr MacCarthy further guarantees ‘in the sum of five pounds, payable to any charitable institution, that no collusion exists, or has existed between myself and any other party in connection with this demonstration.’
Little is currently known of the Psychic demonstration. Who sat on the invited committee? Who was Mr MacCarthy? Why was he investigating Psychic Photography?

I have no idea what this is I just found it among my files of photos taken a few years ago, it looks like a distortion through a liquid or surface with high opacity?
Do you know what it is?

Café Frequenters episode 103
-----------------------------------------
David Dough: Hey Steve why do we always go to these pubs, it is filthy boring and we have no money! we need a job and we ain´t gonna find it here... I am sick staring at your metal face getting rusty by all your beer missing your mouth piece!
- Hey Dave you were the one suggesting to go out and drink, rather than to sit at home staring at our mechanical dull doll-guards, I mean they are cool and stuff, but why did we buy them it is such a big bundle programming them all the time and they are not worth their money in battle!
- Snake you are a failure of a half-human! you were the one who wanted to buy them, you said that the are more reliable than henchmen with biological brains, but the only one they have managed to kill is our janitor, I totally forgot that he had the mail key when I put them on guard program!
- yeah they really killed that fool, I am glad that we had those contacts from our time working as policemen to erase the the files, but why did you just dump the body in the suer? we should have loaded his body with explosives and made a a drive by that mafia-café and just give the body to them so that it could explode in their faces!
ha, ha, ha yeah that would be fun! why don´t you ever get drunk are you cheating? I have a higher physic value than you or are you just lucky with the dice?
- oh shut up why do you only have one pair of underwear and no friends and you never go to pooh or pee!
- Oh yeah really, you have metal parts why don´t you ever take them of and clean them you must stink!
- Take that back or I am gonna shoot you like I did when I covertly killed your last character and hey why don´t you have a girlfriend!
Gamemaster Johnny: "Ok I think that is enough for this night or hmm I think it is morning, the sun is up!
But I still think we can manage one game of three-sided Warhammer before we travel to Copenhagen centrum for the Sale at Fantask on outdated figures!
Coffee anyone?

These four undead fellows are the house band at the captain's Daughter tavern, located at Skull Rock.
Davy Jones and the Undead Immortals are, from left to right:
- Cpt. Vanderdecken, on drums (cursed God on a trip round the horn of Africa, so God cursed him)
- Corporal Punishment, on bass guitar (from a Spanish expedition to El Dorado)
- Major Paine, on lute (officer from the English Civil War)
- Davy Jones, on vocals (made a deal with goddess Calypso to ferry souls to underworld)
NOTE: Their instruments are made from ectoplasm and not visible to living beings, thus they are not visible here.
Clearly, we're not all in this together.
'New York critic Harold Rosenberg commenting on Avant Garde Art culture suggested that from the mid-1960s onward progressive culture ceased to fulfill its former adversarial role. Since then it has been flanked by what he called "avant-garde ghosts" to the one side, and a changing mass culture on the other, both of which it interacts with to varying degrees. This has seen culture become, in his words, "a profession one of whose aspects is the pretense of overthrowing it." '
