Longish exposure to bring out the maximum I could hope for from the Sun's Corona.

A shot taken in Svalbard, just outside Longyearbyen. Used an Oly E-M10 on an AstroProfessionnal 80ED Refractor. Pretty pleased with the results. :)

These images where taken on the morning of 20th March 2015 of the UK Solar Eclipse from Chester, Cheshire UK.

The equipment used to capture this was:

- Handheld Canon 5D Mark III

- Extender EF 2x III

- 70-200mm F2.8 IS (at 200mm (so 400mm)

I used two filters stacked as per:

- Polaroid HD variable Density (PLFILFDND82)

- HOYA ND400

This view of the september 28 2015 lunar eclipse was taken at prime focus of a newtonian 200/800 telescope.

To resolve the coma aberration (no coma corrector yet), I stacked 100 frames together using registax freeware.

the sun was only very briefly out from behind the heavy cloud cover on Friday :-(

I snapped this and another but it never came back out...

I used my old 450d to get a better magnification on it..

10 stop used to keep the sun from blowing out

if you look close you can see a wee sunspot on the top left hand of the Sun.

My best shot of the Eclipse through the clouds

Partial solar eclipse on 20th March 2015 at Worcester.

Partial solar eclipse on 20th March 2015 as viewed from Stockport, NW England. Photographed with a Canon 700D DSLR.

Close to or maybe just after the maximum point of eclipse.

Other Eclipse pictures

Taken this morning at Truro College with my little pinhole camera.

Varying results as always.

Eclipse on a misty day, taken from New Barns Bay, Arnside Cumbria. Bit cold. Noone else there.

While trying to get a few photographs of the Eclipse I managed to get a nice little shot of this copy of Belfasts Beacon of Hope sculpture.

Eclipse 2015 Time lapse Part 1 is a set of six sequence shot from a cloudy and misty Swanland, East Riding of Yorkshire. Time lapse part 2 will show the view over the Humber Bridge as the Eclipse was underway.

The central dozen or so images of the eclipse taken from Immingham Dock processed in Starstax.

I selected all the images from about 9:28 through to about 9:50 and then ran the stacking sequence with different spacings until I got a separation I liked.

Taken through a home made Baader solar film filter

Unfortunately the overcast weather more or less ruined the eclipse in southern Sweden. After the maximum it even started to rain so I was only able to see half of the eclipse. This is the result when five of the "best" images shot through the clouds is combined into a composite
