One more photo of the so-called Supermoon Eclipse. The next "regular-size" total lunar eclipse is in 2018.
Broadstairs, September 2015.
Took a trip out this morning for sunrise followed by the partial solar eclipse. No filters and managed this shot without burning my eyeballs out, which is always a bonus!

Absolutely chuffed that we had the opportunity to both capture and share todays partial solar eclipse
Even managed a little outreach with our neighbours! Fab to hear the Wows!

The solar eclipse as seen from Scunthorpe in the UK. At maximum coverage I think we had about a 90% lunar cover of the Sun. Thankfully there was a thin cloud cover to help block out some of the light so not to damage my camera with the bright glare of the sun.
Also had two NDx4 filters on the front and an NDx2 to cut back the sun even more.
Feeling inspired and after seeing all these wonderful images of the eclipse. I decided it was time to put a little more interest in to my subject. Complete composite image using Adobe Photoshop CC2014
Eclipse 2015 viewed over a standing stone on the Black Mountain, Amman Valley, Carmarthenshire. I had to use loads of filters to block the sun out enough! Impossible to photograph! In the end I used a 2x ND 0.9 and 1 x 0.6 grads, and held a 1.2 and 0.9 ND filter by hand in front of the other filters, so 5 filters in all. All filters by Welsh company Hitech! Wanted to get some foreground, didn't think It could be done, this was my best effort! Beautiful sunny day (as always) in South Wales!
