MY BEST LUNAR ECLIPSE
This was the first and best lunar eclipse I have captured. I've been trying since then to get something better but for those that haven't been to Guam, we have alot of cloud cover. I guess coz we're on an island? I attempted to capture the last total lunar eclipse but was thwarted when just as the eclipse was going to be total, the clouds swooped in and I lost it.

I did a subjective experiment leading up to totality. Two different images of the eclipsing sun projections through trees on a white cardboard box. Here, a small deciduous tree. The other image is through the needles of a Douglas fir. Very different projection effect.

The Eclipse windmill was one of the more successful designs of windmill used to pump water in the nineteenth century United States. It was invented by Leonard Wheeler, a Presbyterian minister who was working among the Ojibwe on the south shore of Lake Superior. Wheeler perfected the device on his missionary homestead for nearly two decades, unknown to the larger technological world. In 1866 health issues forced him to move to Beloit, Wisconsin, then a bustling industrial city, where he was persuaded to patent the basic function of the device. Although Wheeler died before he could witness the success of his invention, his sons carried on the legacy. This eclipse was visible as a partial phase from the east coast of the US. This was shot from the beach in Florida just after sunrise. The disk of the moon is partially obscuring the sun.
