Today's yoga class was extremely satisfying. I was able to push myself to my limits without breaking a sweat. I wanted to hold every pose for a longer period of time than the instructor would allow. I had also noticed that the gentleman behind me was unusually flexible (especially for a big guy) which also encouraged me to try harder. Funny enough, I found out that this car belonged to him as we were leaving the studio.

Photographer notes - The car and the decor looks better in person. Too bad I only had my iPhone camera at the time.

Echo is hiding underneath Shampoo. She doesn't like the camera. She particularly doesn't like the fact that I stuck the camera inside the cage to get this picture of her.

The basements of Diocletian's palace were mostly set up to echo the ground plan at street level above them, so as better to support the structures there. It was quite strange standing in these excellently preserved chambers and imagining the elegant reception halls above in which the former Emperor would have entertained - most of which have now vanished apart from a few bits of wall here and there incorporated into other buildings.

Timeless Echoes

The Highlights of a Decade Long Musical Journey

Presented By: The Old Joes Choir

30th and 31st of August 2008 at The British School Auditorium

It has been ten years, and The Old Joes Choir has come a long way, evolving musically, and as an entity that continues to enthral its public. A decade of dabbling, experimenting and extending the boundaries and limits of sound and music has stood in good stead, enabling a group of talented and committed individuals hone and perfect something they were already good at.

It was in 1997 that The Old Joes Choir embarked upon their musical journey; a voyage that has augured well and ushered in positive change, along with a loyal audience, fans of choral music, who have stood by them through the last ten years of evolution. Thus, it is only right that The Old Joes Choir pay tribute to their loyal, unwavering fans, and their decade old journey, through a musical celebration of the last ten years.

You are welcomed to witness a unique event, involving diversity in sound and style, in celebration of a ten year old journey, as The Old Joes Choir embarks upon a voyage of rediscovery; an expedition that will strike at the very core of their musical soul. Sit back, relax, and prepare to be enthralled, as they go back to their roots to present you with our Timeless Echoes.

Echo II is shown here undergoing a tensile stress test in a dirigible hanger at Weekesville, North Carolina. A dirigible is a type of aerostat or "lighter-than-air" aircraft. The 135-foot rigidized balloon satellite was sent into orbit as a passive communications experiment by NASA on January 25, 1964. When folded, the satellite was packed into the 41-inch diameter canister shown in the foreground. Image Credit: NASA

Shari and I wandered around Echo Park in Los Angeles, California for the first time. Lots of things offbounds, but, looks like it's going to be pretty neat.

Echo Canyon is a slot canyon along the East Rim trail, we stopped for photos but did not really explore it, as we were not knowledgeable of slot canyons. It is a place I would like to return to one day.

Echo

words coming so far

light reflections only remain;

anything is closing and only silence

remains,

the song remains always the same

Sweet Echo, sweetest nymph, that liv'st unseen

Within thy airy shell

By slow Meander's margent green,

Sweet Queen of Parley, Daughter of the Sphere!

So may'st thou be translated to the skies,

And give resounding grace to all Heaven's harmonies!
