I don’t know anything about this weird SF toy except that it was made by Echo in China. I found it unboxed at a thrift store so I have no idea what it was called or when it was first produced. It’s powered by two “AA” batteries and it races around at a very fast clip.
It’s about 4½” long, too small to work with 3¾” action figures. The partial driver figure cannot be removed from the vehicle.

ECHO ASSIGNMENT WIT-
Well I did think this was an impossible task, and had given up when late one evening or early one morning I was watching music channels on TV , on came a group called "Red Hot Chilli Peppers" with a song called "By The Way" , not long into the track up popped this sign, whoooo !! thank goodness for technology , I Was able to rewind to the appropriate spot ,put it on hold , grab the camera and take the shot.
I did a bit of messing about with colour variations and slight cropping and straightening which meant I lost a little bit of the "K" in "Park".
I don`t know whether its everybody`s idea of Echo but I quite like it

Displaced by a house fire and without a support structure, Echo and her cat have been awaiting housing and surviving as best they can on the street.
...and get out into that Florida sun. Maybe? Just a little? It's pretty sad when you blend in with your walls, isn't it?
Feel free to let your silence echo deafeningly.
I bought another food dispenser for Echo. Here she is eating her lunch. I think this one is a bit too easy for her.
The turret at the left has been hit and on fire. Cool!

SAM describes the work this way:
Echo was modeled on the 9-year old daughter of a restaurant owner near the artist's studio in Barcelona. With computer modeling, Plensa elongates and abstracts the girl's features. The sculpture references Echo, the mountain nymph from Greek mythology. As told in Ovid's Metamorphoses, Echo offended the goddess Hera by keeping her engaged in conversation, and preventing her from spying on one of Zeus's amours. To punish Echo, Hera deprived the nymph of speech, except for the ability to repeat the last words of another. Plensa created this monumental head of Echo, listening with her eyes closed or in a state of meditation. The artist envisions Echo to look out over Puget Sound in the direction of Mount Olympus.

WIT: For some reason one of the first things I was thinking of in regard to echoes were overseas phone calls, how sometimes there's an echo in the line when I talk to someone across the globe and everything I say quietly echoes back to me.
So I kept an eye out for telephone poles. I walked by this old building and noticed that one of the poles (not entirely sure it's a telephone pole; could be phone + electricity) was doubly reflected from this angle. I thought it would be the closest thing to getting the echo concept across. In pp I first converted to b/w, then applied a blue tint.

Former motel converted to a singularly named complex with plural units. I see silhouettes of cubist faces in the decaying wooden sign. This is just up the street from a plush modern luxury apartment complex called the Echo Lake Apartments, but I doubt that anyone's confused by the similarity of the names.

My Iplehouse FID Raffine arrived today! I didn't do any box opening pics cause I'm lazy, but I did dress her up in some clothes so I could take a picture. Again, lazy, so I didn't fiddle with any camera settings so it's a crummy pic.
A green oven. This is priceless to me. I would have taken it with me if I could have.
