With Echo Canyon's famous red rock cliffs forming the backdrop, a westbound mixed freight rolls right along toward Salt Lake City on the Union Pacific's Evanston Subdivision.
The Echo Amphitheater is located in Rio Arriba County of New Mexico. It is approximately 4 miles from Ghost Ranch and 17 miles from Abiquiu, NM.
A natural sandstone wind cave, it sits in a formation of other sandstone bluffs and mesas totaling approximately 1/2 mile in length.
This image is not of the actual Amphitheater, but is a part of the formation in which it exists. It is a cliff face which appears to be formed by a fracture and is approximately 300 feet from the top to the ground.
Photo taken with an Olympus E-30 camera using the excellent Zuiko 12-60mm lens at 12mm, processes using Adobe Camera Raw, CS5, Topaz Plug-Ins, and Faststone Editor.

While cleaning up my hard drive, I've just stumbled upon a folder I'd created for photos I'd intended to post. Well, I never did! So, here are seven from that folder. I'll start with my good friend, Echo, the barred owl.
(Owls don't consider themselves to be anyone's friends!)
The Echo 24 apartment block on the junction at the southern end of Wearmouth Bridge. It's always busy here as this evening view during the rush hour is accentuated by the light trails of those making their way home.
This Echo and she is almost three years old now, she is a handful but it`s ok because she is the biggest baby lol. Here`s probably the best photo I`ve taken of her so I just wanted to share it
Yup, just a side view to show the backpack and the fin. The fin is not as bumpy as it appears. If you were to look at it in real life you wouldn't be able to see it. I'm not in denial it's the truth :P

On a sunny day, Union Pacific westbound stack train rolls downgrade at Echo, Utah on October 5, 2013.
I found all the moss growing on this large rock to be interesting. You can see our friends camp on Echo Lake in the Adirondacks of New York in the background. No skyscrapers here.
