Easter in Sydney always meant, among other things, the Royal Easter Show with crowds, show bags, rubbish junk food, sounds, colour, movement, excitement, sideshow alley, rides, and all the while our money vanished into thin air. Not this year, no Show, just memories of the way we were.
There was no social isolation back in 2005 when I took this shot.
eastershow fun watching the world whizzzz by! ;))))
Hope you are all having a safe & happy easter however & wherever you may be celebrating/or not! ;)))
Freebird
Lynyrd Skynyrd
If I leave here tomorrow
Would you still remember me?
For I must be traveling on, now
Cause there's too many places I've got to see
But, if I stayed here with you, girl
Things just couldn't be the same
Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you can not change
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
And this bird you can not change
And this bird you can not change
Lord knows, I can't change
Bye, bye, baby, it's been a sweet love
Though this feeling I can't change
But please don't take it so badly
Cause Lord knows I'm to blame
But, if I stayed here with you, girl
Things just couldn't be the same
Cause I'm as free as a bird now
And this bird you'll never change
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
And this bird you can not change
And this bird you can not change
Lord knows, I can't change
Lord help me, I can't change
Lord, I can't change
Won't you fly high, free bird, yeah
Wanted to get a shot of my daughter flying through the air on this thing. Got it!! Eireann is the girl close to the bottom right hand corner (screaming).
Had a great time photographing at the Easter Show. Loved it
Hope you like "Freebird"

Heheeee took this at the easter show at night. This is a totally accident! I don't know what my camera autofocus on, it sometimes make a bokeh shot for no reason, but I just take them anyway and stock them up for future uses :P

The Belgian Shepherd is an extremely intelligent but challenging breed to live with. Athletic. Agile. Graceful. Elegant. The breed is frequently in motion, often moving in quick, light-footed circles. But beware, it likes to chase and nip at things that move: children, joggers, other animals, bikes...

Sadly most of them were in the cage but they were in good conditions. There are farm animal competitions in the show, cows, pigs, sheep, chicken, etc. I tend to stay in the poultry or farm bird section 🐔
There are more photos from the show ↓
Thanks for visiting
Happy Easter 🐥
Just a bit of clowning around with some selective colour only because it's Easter ~ Enjoy the weekend !!!!
My entry in this year's show, based on Beatrix Potter characters (Peter Rabbit and friends), which won in the Decorated Cupcakes category. Cupcakes don't have liners as per competition rules.
Funhouse
Pink
I dance around this empty house
Tear us down
Throw you out
Screaming down the halls
Spinning all around and now we fall
Pictures framing up the past
Your taunting smirk behind the glass
This museum full of ash
Once a tickle
Now a rash
This used to be a funhouse
But now it's full of evil clowns
It's time to start the countdown
I'm gonna burn it down down down
I'm gonna burn it down

Had a great day at the Royal Easter Show yesterday at Sydney Olympic Park. I had this shot in mind before I went, and it took me 3 visits to this ride throughout the day and night, before I got the shot I wanted. I've blended the stars for effect. This was shot hand held with my A7r and Sigma 35mm Art series. Love the detail, and I was well impressed at how the gear picked up so much detail, as this thing was really moving. Thanks to my wife and daughter for their patience re the multiple return visits throughout the day and night.
Hope you like "Funhouse"

I attended my first Sydney Easter Show at Olympic Park this year and fixated on trying to get some decent shots of these 'wave swingers' at the Carnival.
Homebush, Sydney, 2006
Every year the Easter show is held at Homebush bay. It has been years since I've been, and with my cousin over from Macao, the family decided to take a trip down memory lane... I must admit, the animals were cute, and I felt like a little kid patting and petting the farm animals...

I told you I was fixated on photographing this ride! I think I'm done now;)

Revisiting the waveswing again this year; a favourite subject of mine from last year's Sydney Royal Easter Show. The Taipan rollercoaster can be seen in the background.

My entry in the Wedding Cake Section of the Sydney Easter Show 2007. I included a variety of techniques in this cake - the 'fabric' frills are sugarpaste, branches are painted, birds are bas relief, and the borders on the top 2 tiers are extension and lace. The topper is a moulded gumpaste bowl with bas relief birds and leaves with peonies, roses and tea tree flowers. Inspiration for this cake came from the movie 'Marie Antoinette', with a palette of candy pinks and pastel yellows, and incorporating a chinoiserie design which was popular for interior design of that period.
