These adorable bunnies were a an Easter gift from my son's girlfriend, Olga -- last year. The gnomes are Baps, but I'm not sure of the make of the bunnies. They've been very busy this week getting the house tidy for the arrival of Easter Guests.

Happy late Easter for everybody! ^^

Super Hero Eggs

Hoping the Easter Bunny was good to you on this very special day.

The heart of Christianity is Easter. Christmas gets a lot of publicity with the birth of the Savior. It's the holiday that is centered around a holy baby. But if it weren't for Easter, Christmas would just be about a tree. Easter is the day we celebrate the resurrection

of a crucified Jesus

Happy Birthday to Ilse on this very special day. And a very Happy Easter Sunday to all.

Happy Easter flickr friends. We found this Ibis* (see below) on a suburban property a week back, obviously it wasn't full of Easter Eggs that day, a bit early. But why Easter Eggs. Well, they represent new life as in the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

"The egg itself became a symbol of the Resurrection. Just as Jesus rose from the tomb, the egg symbolized new life emerging from the eggshell. In the Orthodox tradition, eggs are painted red to symbolize the blood that Jesus shed on the cross."

"Then the angel spoke to the women 'Don't be afraid!' he said, 'I know you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He isn't here, he is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come see where his body was lying'". Matthew 28:5-6 TLV

As it says, "He is risen"!

Now what about the Ibis? Well, like Brisbane's little doors, we have these Ibis artworks spread around the city involved in various activities. Sadly, they get stolen but the artist has made them more resilient. As he says -

"I made metal bin chickens and installed them around Brisbane as public art. But unfortunately they kept getting stolen. People loved them and they went viral all the time so I knew I needed a way to make them more permanent. I came up with the Bin Chicken Trail where businesses, homeowners and communities would buy a 'Binny' and I would attach it securely on their premises. It helps to bring eyes to their business and feet in their door. But moreover it's a bit of fun, gives people a laugh and makes Brisbane more interesting".

You can read all about Brisbane's fabulous Ibis art, found on buildings across the city on the Bin Chicken Trail at this website.

Easter is a time to rejoice and be grateful for the blessings in our lives. Wishing you all a happy and peaceful Easter!

My wife and I decorated these eggs back around 1981 when both of our hands were a little steadier ;-)

Easter eggs dyed by Kearah. I think she was trying for a large variety of colours, patterns & techniques.

These where all "store bought" eggs as the ones from out bckyard chickens come precoloured a pale brown or blue.

Last year we had so many extra colourful hard boiled eggs that I took them to work as snacks & it took almost a week to through them all.

Shot taken inside the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem this past January. According to traditional Christian belief, this church is built (more or less) on the very place where Jesus was laid to rest on Good Friday, and from where he rose on Easter Day. (The young woman lights candles, while the priest cleans up after the tourists!)

I hope you all have a joyous Easter weekend!!
