Tonight was the Easter Vigil at church. Something I learned today, according to my priest churches used to face so that the parish would face East while praying. While I knew this was true for some religions (i.e. Islam), I didn't realize the same rang true for Catholics. Interesting.
I used the pink penguin fabric basket tutorial, but modified it to be an Easter basket. I added boning to the basket to make it stay open and round. I made a single long handle which also has boning in it.
Easter Island from the road to Rano Kau volcano on Easter Island. The furthest point would be the Poike Peninsula.
This is the cupcake tier I did for our office. I sold the cupcakes to benefit the American Cancer Society. There were more cupcakes, but before I could get them set up to take a picture, lots of them were sold. Lots of folks wanted half a dozen or more to take home for the weekend. The butterflies were made with the chocolate transfer technique from Whimsical Bakehouse (a wonderful book!), and I drew a lot of inspiration from other flickr cake and cupcake decorators! The pastel pearls are Wilton wedding favors, and I highly recommend them - they're pretty and taste marshmallow-y. The peep bunnies had little jelly eggs, and missing from the photograph were the green grass nests with chocolate eggs.
