Primavera in città: fioriture nei giardini delle case e dei condomini: le Forsizie

(Forsythia) sono una delle fioriture più precoci

Let go of the past, let go of the future,

Let go of the present.

Gone beyond becoming,

With the mind released in every way,

You do not again undergo birth and old age.

Extender weekend is here, and it is raining cats and dogs the whole weekend. So, digging through the archive. Here, a part of the Slapnica quarry, whose main activity is the extraction of decorative stone and building stone, limestone, gypsum, chalk, and slate.

Taken in February 2021.

Taken with Panasonic GX7 digital mirrorless camera and Panasonic G 20mm F1.7 II pancake lens.

Mr. Rose-breasted Grosbeak only hangs around our yard for about a week. He is gorgeous and we so enjoy his company while he is here. I took this through my patio window.

I love the contrast between the soft flowers and the hard rocky wall behind them

Lydia! Here's my blossom shot for our sunday series, this past weekend! this was in the afternoon (our backyard) at about 2:15pm

ユキワリソウ in my garden

The delicately bulged tips of the slender bare branchlets fill the viewer with anticipation of the fullness that is to come thanks to the rains and more abundant light that April brings. The encouraging warmth of the afternoon sun can be seen on some of buds even on a brisk Spring day.

I'm back after a short weekend getaway. Spring has arrived with temperatures reaching well up into the teens, so it was very pleasant, if short, time.

There is not much colour to be seen yet, but I did find a pretty bunch of beech trees on a little driveabout. There are still patches of snow here and there, especially in the woods, and the snow below the beeches provided a nice photographic layer.

The photo is a result of layering two photos, one focussed and one blurry. I overlay the blurry one on top of the focussed one in Photoshop and used the overlay blend mode to get this effect.

This is one year old, but we had (hopefully the last) snowfall here on the coast some days ago this year too. Luckily it disappeared the same night - we're ready for more spring now!

My album of Norwegian spring here.

This time of year I try to go to the National Arboretum very often. It's always a special treat. This white magnolia blossom against a sea of pink ones is typical of the beauty found all over the arboretum.

The Franciscan Monastery in Northeast Washington DC has existed for over 100 years and the beautiful gardens and famous grottos have been in place for over 80 years. Every Spring their gardens feature tulips. They will all be replaced with annuals in a couple weeks, but thousands will view and enjoy them before then.
