Seen in Laurelhurst Park in Portland, Oregon, USA.
Rhododendron usually are not in full bloom here until May.
However, these pink ones do tend to bloom early.

This little guy was in my front yard a while back but he lied... Since I took this we have had freezing weather and it got some of the new growth on my little rose bushes..
Two weeks from today is the Vernal Equinox, the official start of spring! These purple crocuses are already up, daffodils will open any day now. Temperature may hit 70 on Thursday!
We have been having incredibly warm weather this past week. I worry about animals and plants being tricked into coming out of dormancy too soon. I was able to make a quick trip up into the foothills this past week and was surprised to see several species of butterfly already flying around. I don't know what species these butterflies are but they were very pretty and amazingly leaf-like. The second one was especially pretty and I don't remember seeing that type before. So any Id help is appreciated. These were found in Morgan County, Utah
from my hunt series.. still continue my passion for the eye..

More crocuses... this time in the snow. They don't mind the cold. It can get way down below freezing, but they just start blooming again when it gets close to thawing temps.
