Each felt disc is double-sided but each side is a different colour - if that coffee mug could have said StarBucks on it - i would have ;)

The bee inspector came to test for disease: we got a clean bill of health. He did say though that he hadn't expected to see a colony like this from novices (meaning: it's exceptionally big and lively!) and said we should extract honey from one of the three full supers (those smaller boxes). We didn't manage to find an extractor we could borrow, so we borrowed a fourth super, the green one on top, which has comb in it already. We're going to get about 40-50lb/18-22kg of honey even though we'll leave some for the bees!

SANCTUARY is the fourth part of THE NARCISSUS PENTOLOGY which consists of:

Homage to Paul Apostle

Vatican Corridor, A Non-Specific Autobiography

Glimpses of the Queen, 21 Studies for a Portrait of B.T. in the Form of a Triangle

Sanctuary, Autobiography of a Studio Bench

Curia, Nine Sectioned Lay-Ins With Predella

About SANCTUARY, Robert Cremean wrote:

“SANCTUARY is an examination of crisis points that have happened within the development of my work. It is a portrait of a single work table (studio bench) at six given times covering a period of perhaps thirty years...the sixth portrait being a projection into the future and an affirmation of my continuing contemplation of and commitment to human imagery within the sanctuary of my work-space... Each of the portraits attempts to reveal not only a semblance of imagery being produced at the time but also an examination of thoughts and feelings that I remember having been part of the process of Making.”

“...I have been working well...SANCTUARY’S six STUDIO BENCHES are now through their first stage of carving. The SIXTH BENCH which is a projection into the future work has given me the greatest challenge but at last seems true to its concept. I am extremely pleased with the amount of space being created within each of the benches. They seem much larger than they actually are. This quality of bigness should increase as the work defines itself over the next couple of months. The whole thing is moving very fast and my carving has become as natural and free as breathing. It is a good period." Robert Cremean

From the Murugan Chariot Festival.

"The Chariot festival is considered as an important part of ceremonies of each temple and is considered as a special and sacred occasion. Chariot festival being unique among all Jatras is the grandest festival of the supreme divinity who has manifested himself in the Kali Yuga to emancipate humanity and to relieve them from their sufferings.

A glimpse of Highgatehill Murugan on the chariot is considered to be very auspicious and saints, poets and scriptures have repeatedly glorified the sanctity of this special festival. The sanctity of the festival is such that even a touch of the chariot or even the ropes with which these are pulled is considered enough to confer the results of several pious deeds or penance for ages.

The concept of the chariot has been explained in the Kathopanishada in the following words-

Atmanam rathinam viddhi sareeram rathamevatuBuddhim tu saarathim viddhi marah pragrahameva cha. The body is the Chariot and the soul is the deity installed in the chariot. The wisdom acts as the charioteer to control the mind and thoughts"

[London Hindu Temple Blog]

As the chariot moved along, it was followed by men rolling along the ground behind, holding coconuts to be blessed.

I was just hangin in a park and about 5 mares (lipizzaners???) with their babies showed up. They were led into a makeshift pen, attracted 3945739573 people, and stayed for a couple of hours. IIRC the mares mostly grazed, but the foals scratched each other and rushed around. x)

Each year, DDB Canada's offices showcases their culture of creativity by hosting Share DDB, a unique fundraising event where staff members contribute items to the silent auction. Items range from photography, paintings and handmade jewellery to rock-climbing lessons, sailing adventures, catered gourmet dinners and more. Anything that can be imagined (and made) can be submitted for staff, their significant others, clients, suppliers and invited guests to bid on.

The proceeds are split between two deserving charities selected by staff. Share DDB 2013 in Vancouver raised $25,000 for two very deserving charities, the James Lee Foundation and Music Heals.

Lepre-Con 2012! After the mayoress of Hoboken turned into the "Grinch who Stole St. Patrick's Day," the Irish Catholics of Hoboken were forced to cancel the traditional and time-honored tradition of the Hoboken St. Patrick's Day Parade. Despite not having a parade for the first time in almost three decades, the hard-working, fun loving young people of Hoboken came up with an alternative bar crawl called "Lepre-Con" to celebrate.

According to the NJ.com, www.nj.com/hudson/index.ssf/2012/02/local_priest_denounce... Father Alex Santora denounced Mayoress Dawn Zimmer for not working with the Church to come up with a compromise that would have allowed the parade to have taken place. Let's all put her in our Christian prayers that she makes a better decision next year.

These are my photos that I took while walking around Hoboken for the day. There were lots of twenty-something guys calling each other "Bro…" and an equal number of girls calling each other "Bitches…" There were the usual boyfriend/girlfriend arguments and breakups after some drinking, and so forth… All in all, most of the kids were well behaved and a good time was had by all!

Each year, more than 60 public sector employers from a broad spectrum of practice areas meet with students at the law school for a Public Sector Forum.

With each and every post, we strive here at Creative Tempest to bring you only the best artists from around the world. This post comes to you not from one single place but from several across the United States, with our artists being Nicole Wolf, Brad Wolf, and Jeremy Bustos; along with several others who with their powers combined come together to form OVEREXPOSED. Actually, they’re really SOTA Dzine and Studio ThisIs, OVEREXPOSED is simply their “Palace of Justice” where they all meet together and share their photography escapades. The artists behind OVEREXPOSED met in college as simply like-minded individuals who, “thrive to create…share their lives, inspiration, and work” and, “stuck together to do what they love”. Their work can be found at www.stylemepretty.com, www.bklynbrideonline.com, www.washingtonian.com, and the highly recognized www.theknot.com. We’re happy to post such talent and vision here on Creative Tempest and hope you will share the same appreciation for their great artwork that we do. Find out more at www.creativetempest.com

Each year, the Sussex house holds a feast for the household staff. They are treated like nobility, served by the people they usually serve. And, there are various forms of entertainment. Some nobility sing songs, others recite poems or Shakespeare scenes. Some write their own stories (such as "Thor's Hammer is Stolen by a Giant") and others retell old classics (like "Hansel, Gretel, their Mother, a Witch, and a Woodsman named Woody").

Each year, Memorial Medical Center celebrates Nursing Excellence Week May 6–May 12. During this week, we recognize the members of our nursing teams for their hard work and dedication to providing life-saving and compassionate care for the patients and families we serve. Our nursing staff are clinical leaders, innovators, patient advocates and so much more. Carrying the weight of these responsibilities isn’t always easy, but as a three-time Magnet-designated hospital, our nursing teams exemplify the best in nursing practice across the US. #nursesweek #ournursesrock

Each year, all first-year master's students participate in a three-day simulation known as the Integrated Policy Exercise (IPE), which tests their ability to make sound, responsible decisions under "real-world" time constraints and pressures. The annual IPE alternates between issues of domestic and international significance, and recent topics have included freshwater resource allocation, regional transportation, immigration policy, an Iranian nuclear crisis, and more.
