The Mobile Emergency Room is a project by Thierry Geoffroy/Colonel, a participating artist of the Maldives Pavilion working with art formats developed around the notion of emergency. www.emergencyrooms.org
Emergency Room is a format providing space for artists to engage in urgent debates, address societal dysfunctions and express emergencies in the now, today, before it is too late. Geoffroy’s approach allows immediate artistic intervention and displaces the contemporary to the status of delayed comment on yesterday’s world.
Taking as point of departure climate change and the Maldives, Geoffroy developed a scenario of disappearance and translated actual emergencies and hospitality needs into artistic interventions. In this context he activated his penetration format in order to transform “rigid exhibition spaces” into “elastic and generous exhibition spaces”.
An intervention facilitated by curator Christine Eyene, the Mobile Emergency Room was set up at the Zimbabwe Pavilion during the opening week of the biennale with the hospitality of commissioner Doreen Sibanda and curator Raphael Chikukwa. The first pieces presented in this room consisted in Geoffroy’s tent and an installation by Polish artist Christian Costa. Since then it has been animated online and has extended from being a space for artists expressing emergencies about climate change, to encompassing various emergency topics.
From 24 to 28 August, Geoffroy was in Venice collaborating with Danish artists Nadia Plesner, Mads Vind Ludvigsen, who created new work everyday, raising various emergencies and concerns, with a daily change of exhibition (“passage”) at 3.00 pm.

Morbus comprises a contemporary art exhibition and a book of collected works that explore physical limitations of the human body relating to dysfunction, restriction, or illness. The pieces selected emphasise the natural, inevitable, and universal experience of inhabiting an unwell body.
Housed within the GSA graduate degree show at the Tontine building, the Morbus exhibition features works by Glasgow based artists; Caitlin Higgins, Elina Bry, and Flannery O’kafka as well as Canadian artist Alexis Bulman. Video works by Bry and Bulman illustrate their experiences and frustrations in dealing with physical conditions through the medical system, each using their own body as a medium. Higgins’ ironically soft sculptures of fitness equipment speak to the lightness that can be found in vulnerability. Meanwhile, O’kafka’s visceral photography depicts the wider communal and familial experience of grief within the human condition.
The book includes contributions by the artists featured in the exhibition as well as others, and spans a variety of styles including essays, poetry, photography, and interviews. It will be available throughout the exhibition and may also be purchased while supplies last. (£10)
In acknowledging the spectrum of health and ability that exists between the polarised states of able and disabled, normal and abnormal, well and unwell, Morbus aims to encourage engagement with concepts of body occupancy, ethics, repair, and the physical body’s impact on the psyche of the individual.
Morbus is located on the fourth floor of the Tontine building which is accessible via an elevator. There is also an accessible toilet on the fourth floor. Large print copies of the book and the exhibition floor plan will be made available for the visually impaired.
Biography
Christiana is a curator and artist from Eastern Canada, born of settler ancestry. Following the completion of her BFA at Mount Allison University she worked as an educator at the New Brunswick Museum and as the president of the board of directors of Third Space, a spaceless artist-run-centre, both in Saint John, Canada.
Her practice explores human form and function, specifically physical and communication-based limitations. She has exhibited her work in Canada and parts of Europe and has completed residencies at the FoFA Gallery in Montreal and the Arteles Centre in Finland. Following the graduate exhibition, she will be returning home in search of curatorial and collaborative opportunities.

Characteristics:
Colorless to pale yellow clear liquid.
Indications:
Amino acids agents.For the patients that amino acids can not meet the needs of body’s metabolic which caused by lack of protein intake or malabsorption.It is also used to improve patients’ nutritional status after surgery.

Side effects:
Once the rash-like allergic reactions appear,the patient should stop the medication. Sometimes the reaction such as nausea、vomiting、chest tightness、palpitations、chills、fever or headache may appear.
Contraindications:
Do not administrate to the patients with or in danger of hepatic coma; severe renal disorder or hyperazotemia; with abnormality of amino acid metabolism.

Precautions:
(1)Titration rate should be strictly controlled
(2)As Na and Cl are contained, be careful about electrolyte balance in case of administration of a large quantity or in case of combination, use with electrolyte solution
(3)The liquid should be carefully examined. If there are anomalies such as bottle rupture、leakage、discoloration、mildew、sedimention or metamorphism,the liquid should not be used.
(4)It would crystallize when in a cold place, slightly heat to 60oC to dissolve.Do not use unless perfectly transparent.
(5)The liquid which has been opened should be run out,and the remaining couldn’t be stored and used for next time.
(6)The osmotic molar concentration of the liquid is 691~845mosmol/kg.

The Mobile Emergency Room is a project by Thierry Geoffroy/Colonel, a participating artist of the Maldives Pavilion working with art formats developed around the notion of emergency. www.emergencyrooms.org
Emergency Room is a format providing space for artists to engage in urgent debates, address societal dysfunctions and express emergencies in the now, today, before it is too late. Geoffroy’s approach allows immediate artistic intervention and displaces the contemporary to the status of delayed comment on yesterday’s world.
Taking as point of departure climate change and the Maldives, Geoffroy developed a scenario of disappearance and translated actual emergencies and hospitality needs into artistic interventions. In this context he activated his penetration format in order to transform “rigid exhibition spaces” into “elastic and generous exhibition spaces”.
An intervention facilitated by curator Christine Eyene, the Mobile Emergency Room was set up at the Zimbabwe Pavilion during the opening week of the biennale with the hospitality of commissioner Doreen Sibanda and curator Raphael Chikukwa. The first pieces presented in this room consisted in Geoffroy’s tent and an installation by Polish artist Christian Costa. Since then it has been animated online and has extended from being a space for artists expressing emergencies about climate change, to encompassing various emergency topics.
From 24 to 28 August, Geoffroy was in Venice collaborating with Danish artists Nadia Plesner, Mads Vind Ludvigsen, who created new work everyday, raising various emergencies and concerns, with a daily change of exhibition (“passage”) at 3.00 pm.

In normal have a discussion- It doesn’t matter that erectile dysfunction doesn’t always indicate an underlying heart problem. However, research suggests that men with erectile dysfunction that have no apparent cause, such as trauma, and who have no symptoms of heart problems, should be screened for heart disease before starting any treatment. Stress and anxiety are man’s worst enemies, giving rise to a vicious circle of excessive tension and poor performance in bed. Mental health continues to deteriorate. Work politics, career goals, family dynamics, and everything else trigger the tension. Every man lives with one or another concern. It is also possible to have a mental condition that leads to the inability to have sex. Depression is a medical condition that causes a man to lose interest in most activities, a mental condition that can affect sexual desire and performance in bed. Sex is one of them.
Is erectile dysfunction a sign of heart disease? Let us see –
Erectile dysfunction in men is the result of various health conditions. But can it warn of a future heart attack? The answer is yes; erectile dysfunction in men could very well indicate a heart attack.
To know the fact, let’s first look at the knowledge behind erections. A firm erection occurs when hormones are well balanced, blood supply is adequate, and nerve signals are working properly. This happens when all of these bodily functions work in harmony.

Portland, OR, October 23, 2014 — The Philip Feldman Gallery + Project Space at Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) presents Breaking Banality: The Dysfunction of Remediation, an exhibition by Eva and Franco Mattes, opening with a reception on First Thursday, November 6, 2014 and running through January 10, 2015. For the exhibition, whose title was created by an online random exhibition title generator, the Brooklyn-based Italian duo will present ten reiterations of one performance from their series “BEFNOED – By Everyone, For No One, Every Day,” for which they commission anonymous workers to realize webcam performances. The Mattes’ hire performers through online crowdsourcing services and post the resulting videos to many of the more obscure social networks around the world. The artists regularly post links to new videos at befnoed.tumblr.com. These works are in the lineage of Fluxus event scores and more recently Hans Ulrich Obrist’s instruction-based project, “Do It.” For this exhibition, to view the videos, visitors will be forced in awkward positions, becoming themselves, if just for a few seconds, performers, and underlying how the act of viewing is in itself performative.

Roger Peet: Traps, Flows, Echoes: Gallery 214

Portland artist Roger Peet will open a show of new installation, video and print work in Gallery 214 at PNCA on the 6th November. The show, entitled “Traps, Flows, Echoes” focuses on the idea of the trap, in both the physical and cultural realms. Much of the show will focus on Peet’s relationship to the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he has worked for several seasons to promote community conservation through art. Some of the work addresses Peet’s complex relationship with his father, who faked his death to go AWOL from the British Air Force and to fly helicopters for the CIA’s interventions in Congo in the 1960’s, an event which Peet recreates in a video collaboration with Portland director Jodi Darby. In his travels and work in Congo, Peet experienced first hand the disastrous consequences of the history his father had helped to shape, and this show will contain vivid and evocative print, installation, and sound pieces that evoke the trauma and brutality of that trap of history, as well as the ways that he and the friends that he made in Congo are trying to get out of it. The work also features sound collages and poetry by Portland MC Mic Crenshaw.
Roger Peet is an artist, writer and printmaker in Portland, Oregon. His art focuses on civilized bad ideas, evolution and extinction, predator-prey relationships, and the contemporary crisis of biodiversity and what can and can’t be done about it. He is a member of the Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative (justseeds.org), a group of socially and environmentally engaged North American artists, and collaborates with activists, artists and scientists across the globe in the service of a more generous and a wilder world. The Mobile Emergency Room is a project by Thierry Geoffroy/Colonel, a participating artist of the Maldives Pavilion working with art formats developed around the notion of emergency. www.emergencyrooms.org
Emergency Room is a format providing space for artists to engage in urgent debates, address societal dysfunctions and express emergencies in the now, today, before it is too late. Geoffroy’s approach allows immediate artistic intervention and displaces the contemporary to the status of delayed comment on yesterday’s world.
Taking as point of departure climate change and the Maldives, Geoffroy developed a scenario of disappearance and translated actual emergencies and hospitality needs into artistic interventions. In this context he activated his penetration format in order to transform “rigid exhibition spaces” into “elastic and generous exhibition spaces”.
An intervention facilitated by curator Christine Eyene, the Mobile Emergency Room was set up at the Zimbabwe Pavilion during the opening week of the biennale with the hospitality of commissioner Doreen Sibanda and curator Raphael Chikukwa. The first pieces presented in this room consisted in Geoffroy’s tent and an installation by Polish artist Christian Costa. Since then it has been animated online and has extended from being a space for artists expressing emergencies about climate change, to encompassing various emergency topics.
From 24 to 28 August, Geoffroy was in Venice collaborating with Danish artists Nadia Plesner, Mads Vind Ludvigsen, who created new work everyday, raising various emergencies and concerns, with a daily change of exhibition (“passage”) at 3.00 pm.

Eva and Franco Mattes: Breaking Banality: The Dysfunction of Remediation

Portland, OR, October 23, 2014 — The Philip Feldman Gallery + Project Space at Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) presents Breaking Banality: The Dysfunction of Remediation, an exhibition by Eva and Franco Mattes, opening with a reception on First Thursday, November 6, 2014 and running through January 10, 2015. For the exhibition, whose title was created by an online random exhibition title generator, the Brooklyn-based Italian duo will present ten reiterations of one performance from their series “BEFNOED – By Everyone, For No One, Every Day,” for which they commission anonymous workers to realize webcam performances. The Mattes’ hire performers through online crowdsourcing services and post the resulting videos to many of the more obscure social networks around the world. The artists regularly post links to new videos at befnoed.tumblr.com. These works are in the lineage of Fluxus event scores and more recently Hans Ulrich Obrist’s instruction-based project, “Do It.” For this exhibition, to view the videos, visitors will be forced in awkward positions, becoming themselves, if just for a few seconds, performers, and underlying how the act of viewing is in itself performative.

Roger Peet: Traps, Flows, Echoes: Gallery 214

Portland artist Roger Peet will open a show of new installation, video and print work in Gallery 214 at PNCA on the 6th November. The show, entitled “Traps, Flows, Echoes” focuses on the idea of the trap, in both the physical and cultural realms. Much of the show will focus on Peet’s relationship to the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he has worked for several seasons to promote community conservation through art. Some of the work addresses Peet’s complex relationship with his father, who faked his death to go AWOL from the British Air Force and to fly helicopters for the CIA’s interventions in Congo in the 1960’s, an event which Peet recreates in a video collaboration with Portland director Jodi Darby. In his travels and work in Congo, Peet experienced first hand the disastrous consequences of the history his father had helped to shape, and this show will contain vivid and evocative print, installation, and sound pieces that evoke the trauma and brutality of that trap of history, as well as the ways that he and the friends that he made in Congo are trying to get out of it. The work also features sound collages and poetry by Portland MC Mic Crenshaw.
Roger Peet is an artist, writer and printmaker in Portland, Oregon. His art focuses on civilized bad ideas, evolution and extinction, predator-prey relationships, and the contemporary crisis of biodiversity and what can and can’t be done about it. New Study: COVID Can Infect Men's Genitals, Cause Infertility and Erectile Dysfunction
It's been some months since Nicki Minaj and others amplified the falsehood that COVID vaccines made men's testicles swell up. And now some researchers have found that the COVID-19 virus gets into the penis, prostate, and testicles of some men, and can cause long-term problems with their sexual health and fertility.
There's a good deal of Venn diagram overlap between anti-vaxxers, COVID deniers, and macho Republican and libertarian men who think the virus is no match for them and their great, Trumpian personal strength. But wait til they hear their bouts with COVID might give them some trouble getting their dicks hard!
A pre-print, non-peer-reviewed study in the journal Northwestern Medicine reveals that "multiple tissues of the male genital tract can be infected with SARS-CoV-2," and the finding is based on PET scans of COVID-infected rhesus macaques. (The primates have been found to have similar disease progression to humans when infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and are therefore used as study subjects.) Researchers say they expected mostly to find the virus present in the upper nose and brain area — which would be the reason that COVID patients often lose their sense of taste or smell. But they found it also present in 10 to 20 percent of male subjects' genitals — specifically in the prostate, the vasculature of testicles, the penis and the testicles.
This tracks with how some other viruses, including SARS-CoV-1, Ebola, and mumps also infect the male genitals — and mumps have long been known to cause infertility.
And this is just one of the many strange, unsettling, and late-breaking complications from COVID that scientists have been warning about for the past two years, as the new virus continues to be studied.
Thomas Hope, professor of cell and developmental biology at Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine and the lead investigator in the study, says his team was surprised by the findings. But they confirm other clinical studies that have found last effects from COVID in human male patients, including testicular pain, erectile dysfunction, and reduced sperm count.
"Even if this is only a small percentage of the infected, it represents millions of men who may suffer from a negative impact on their sexual health and fertility," Hope said in a release.
The study results still need to be peer-reviewed and published, and are considered preliminary.
Hope's lab at Northwestern will continue to investigate the effects of COVID on men's genitals at later timepoints, and look in to potential therapies for the ailments mentioned above. Also, they plan to look into whether similar impacts from the virus are occurring in women's reproductive systems.

Portland, OR, October 23, 2014 — The Philip Feldman Gallery + Project Space at Pacific Northwest College of Art (PNCA) presents Breaking Banality: The Dysfunction of Remediation, an exhibition by Eva and Franco Mattes, opening with a reception on First Thursday, November 6, 2014 and running through January 10, 2015. For the exhibition, whose title was created by an online random exhibition title generator, the Brooklyn-based Italian duo will present ten reiterations of one performance from their series “BEFNOED – By Everyone, For No One, Every Day,” for which they commission anonymous workers to realize webcam performances. The Mattes’ hire performers through online crowdsourcing services and post the resulting videos to many of the more obscure social networks around the world. The artists regularly post links to new videos at befnoed.tumblr.com. These works are in the lineage of Fluxus event scores and more recently Hans Ulrich Obrist’s instruction-based project, “Do It.” For this exhibition, to view the videos, visitors will be forced in awkward positions, becoming themselves, if just for a few seconds, performers, and underlying how the act of viewing is in itself performative.

Roger Peet: Traps, Flows, Echoes: Gallery 214

Portland artist Roger Peet will open a show of new installation, video and print work in Gallery 214 at PNCA on the 6th November. The show, entitled “Traps, Flows, Echoes” focuses on the idea of the trap, in both the physical and cultural realms. Much of the show will focus on Peet’s relationship to the Democratic Republic of Congo, where he has worked for several seasons to promote community conservation through art. Some of the work addresses Peet’s complex relationship with his father, who faked his death to go AWOL from the British Air Force and to fly helicopters for the CIA’s interventions in Congo in the 1960’s, an event which Peet recreates in a video collaboration with Portland director Jodi Darby. In his travels and work in Congo, Peet experienced first hand the disastrous consequences of the history his father had helped to shape, and this show will contain vivid and evocative print, installation, and sound pieces that evoke the trauma and brutality of that trap of history, as well as the ways that he and the friends that he made in Congo are trying to get out of it. The work also features sound collages and poetry by Portland MC Mic Crenshaw.

New research points to possible reason for long COVID
A Spanish study suggests that SARS-CoV-2 mediated vagus nerve dysfunction (VND) could be responsible for long COVID.
Many symptoms of post-COVID syndrome could be caused by lasting damage sustained to one of the most important nerves in the human body during initial infection with coronavirus, new research has suggested.
What is the vagus nerve?
The vagus nerve is the 10th cranial nerve and is the longest and most complex of all of them. It runs from the brain throughout the entirety of the face and chest, reaching the abdomen. The vagus nerve serves as the main connection between the brain and the gastrointestinal tract, sending back information about the state of the inner organs.
As well as being crucial to the gastrointestinal system, as it controls the transfer of food from the mouth to the stomach and moves food through the intestines, the vagus nerve is also responsible for multiple other processes, such as controlling the heart rate, sweat production and the gag reflex, as well as certain muscle movements in the mouth, including those necessary for speech.
New research set to be presented at this year’s European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID) investigates the connection between post-COVID syndrome, also known as long COVID, and the vagus nerve.
The pilot study was authored by Dr. Gemma Lladós and Dr. Lourdes Mateu of the Germans Trias i Pujol University Hospital in Badalona, Spain. Its findings will be presented at the congress in Lisbon from April 23-26.
Common symptoms of long COVID
The study suggests that SARS-CoV-2-mediated vagus nerve dysfunction (VND) could be responsible for many of the symptoms of long COVID, including persistent voice problems, difficulty swallowing, dizziness, abnormally high heart rate (tachycardia), low blood pressure and digestive issues.
Long COVID is a condition characterized by persistent and continuous health issues caused by COVID-19 after the patient has recovered from the initial infections. It can affect nearly every organ in the body, as well as cause a range of mental-health and nervous-system disorders. Some of the most common symptoms of long COVID include fatigue, headaches, shortness of breath, loss of smell and taste and muscle weakness.
To further understand the phenomenon, the researchers used imaging and functional tests, as well as a morphological and functional evaluation of the vagus nerve, in an assessment of patients with long COVID who had one or more signs of VND.
Out of the 348 patients taking part in the study, two-thirds (228) had at least one symptom of VND among their long COVID symptoms. After the initial assessments were completed, further evaluations were conducted on a test group of 22 patients, who all had VND symptoms.
Of the 22 subjects analyzed, 20 were women with a median age of 44. The symptoms had been present in the participants for an average of 14 months.
The most frequent VND symptoms presented were diarrhea (73% of subjects), tachycardia (59%) and dizziness, difficulty swallowing and voice problems (45% each). An additional 14% of patients suffered from low blood pressure.
Overall, 86% of the patients assessed had at least three different VND-related symptoms.
Furthermore, in six of the 22 patients, there were visible changes in the vagus nerve in the neck, which could be seen in ultrasounds, including thickening and the indication of mild inflammatory reactive changes.

Ten of the patients in the study showed abnormal breathing patterns and reduced maximum inspiration pressures, indicating weakness in the breathing muscles, which are also connected with the vagus nerve.
Multiple patients also showed changes in digestive function, with 13 of 18 assessed (72%) also having a positive screening for oropharyngeal dysphagia, or trouble swallowing, which can affect the digestive process. Eight patients showed signs of reduced or impaired ability to deliver food to the stomach via the esophagus, with others suffering from acid reflux.
One step closer to treatment
As the exact cause of long COVID and the reason why symptoms present in such a varied way from patient to patient is not currently known, the study’s findings could significantly impact and change the understanding and treatment of the condition going forward.
“In this pilot evaluation, most long COVID subjects with vagus nerve dysfunction symptoms had a range of significant, clinically relevant, structural and/or functional alterations in their vagus nerve, including nerve thickening, trouble swallowing, and symptoms of impaired breathing,” the study’s authors wrote. “Our findings so far thus point at vagus nerve dysfunction as a central pathophysiological feature of long COVID.”

Utah doctors have noticed a pattern in how COVID long-haulers finally recover
They also have noticed a pattern in who is suffering.
As Intermountain Healthcare launches Utah’s second dedicated care plan for patients with “long COVID,” doctors who have already been treating long-haulers say they have noticed some patterns in how their illnesses play out.
“I have yet to see somebody with long COVID who was vaccinated,” said Dr. Ellie Hirshberg, an Intermountain critical care physician. “I’ve seen patients who had long COVID and then got vaccinated and are still trying to get rid of some of their symptoms. But I have yet to see somebody with long COVID who was vaccinated first.”
For about two years, Hirshberg has been seeing patients with “long COVID” — that is, people whose symptoms persist at least two to three months after they were diagnosed with COVID-19.
Earlier in the pandemic, COVID “long-haulers” described frustration getting doctors to believe their symptoms were related to the coronavirus. But now Utah has two clinics — one operated by the University of Utah Hospital and the other by Intermountain — for patients to seek help with the hundreds of prolonged symptoms now described in medical literature.
The most common are fatigue, “brain fog,” and heart and lung problems — and some Utah patients have described symptoms so severe they could not walk, drive or bathe themselves. But doctors at the U. and at Intermountain also have reported symptoms ranging from hair loss and distorted taste to “zinging” nerves and vision problems.
Still others are seeking help a little earlier than three months post-infection, for more serious lung problems like pneumonia and blood clots, said Dr. Dixie Harris, also a critical care physician for Intermountain.
And many ultimately suffer from depression and anxiety, Harris said — though it is unclear whether that is directly triggered by the virus or whether it develops as a result of frustration from persistent, debilitating symptoms.
“The COVID molecule seems to affect a lot of different organ systems and in somewhat [more] unusual ways than what traditional medicine is used to diagnosing,” said Hirshberg, one of the doctors for the Intermountain clinic, which announced its “Long COVID navigator” system in a news conference Monday.
“The navigator program really was started to try to bring in all of these multi-specialties and get the patients to the right place in a quick timeframe. A lot of our subspecialty clinics are are booked out typically, and this is a way to get people in ... rather quickly,” Hirshberg said.
Doctors at Utah’s two long COVID clinics described similar patterns among the patients they have seen: most are middle-aged or younger, with no serious underlying health problems, and their initial illness from COVID-19 was not severe.
“I’m seeing ... a lot of athletes, a lot of fully working individuals who the fatigue and the brain fog is so profound that they’re not able to get back to their pre-COVID degrees of exercise and activity,” Hirshberg said. In fact, she noted, long COVID patients who were hospitalized for COVID-19 often are recovering more quickly than those whose initial cases were milder.
“These are people who didn’t have risk factors, not diabetics, not hypertensive, doesn’t have coronary disease, never got very sick with COVID,” Harris agreed. “But it just lingers. All these symptoms continue and continue.”
About 40% of patients with symptomatic COVID-19 are experiencing some sort of “sequelae” — that is, symptoms develop or persist for more than the two weeks it generally takes a person to recover from COVID-19, Hirshberg said.
“We’ve been pretty booked,” she said, echoing reports from the University of Utah’s long COVID clinic. The high numbers could simply be a reflection of how transmissible COVID-19 is, and how many Utahns have had it.
But, Hirshberg said, “it also seems like there’s something a little bit different about the COVID molecule. ... We certainly see much more of this with COVID than we have with any virus previously.”
Some patients recover soon thereafter, but some have had symptoms continue for as long as a year, Hirshberg said.
“This is a good reason not to catch this virus — not to go out intentionally catch it because you just want to build immunity,” Harris said. “I really don’t want to have a headache for the next 12 months.”
The Intermountain doctors said they have noticed one factor in particular that appears to play a significant role when COVID long haulers finally do recover: sleep.
“The good news is most of them, those early patients, they’ve given me feedback that they’re really feeling much better these days. And I think a key component of that is actually sleep,” Hirshberg said. “A lot of these folks are having disrupted sleep. And whether or not that’s from exact changes in their neuro-hormonal pathways that COVID stimulates in the brain or from the overwhelm — really working on figuring out new sleep patterns and getting enough sleep and enough rest has helped a lot of these patients.”
That means “self care” is a big part of recovering from long COVID, Harris said. Patients “have to be really careful about going back to full exercise and really listen to their bodies,” Harris said. “This is not a typical cold. You have to listen to ... how your body feels with activity. Even patients just walking across the room ... can become short of breath and their heart can start racing.”
