A Grand Trunk Western GP40-2 and a CN GMD-1 work Sarnia Yard on a windy and chilly May afternoon. The season may have been spring, but it felt a bit more like winter standing on this overpass. 6420 was one of a handful of GTW-painted GP40-2s still in service. As of early 2024, it lives on. The GMD-1 model experienced a bit of a revival starting in late 2018 but all have since been retired by Canadian National.

This was my first attempt at a 10 image tall/wide panorama to get much more of the sky into the scene.

Middle East - GCC - United Arab Emirates - UAE - Dubai - Dubai Water Canal - Dubai Creek - Artificial canal with modern sky high buildings with iconic Burj Khalifa - Khalifa Tower - Skyscraper & tallest man-made structure in world at 829.8 m (2,722 ft)
Middle East is not known for its amazing sunsets, but occasionally something spectacular occurs. This cloud with setting sun was perfectly positioned just next to the tallest building in the world - iconic Burj Khalifa.
Timelapse movies had become my new way of capturing my travels besides regular photography. Dubai is a very dynamic city, perfect for timelapse. See for yourself at :

"Dynamic Zion"
Zion National Park, Utah, USA
Most often the Zion Narrows are captured with sunlight glowing around each corner; however during my visit overcast skies prevailed providing an opportunity to focus on even lighting with cooler tones in the canyon. And doubly nice was our timing in capturing autumn. A colleague and I dressed ourselves in dry suits, and wandered up the river. I spent hours waiting for both the crowds to disappear and the wind to provide a light breeze which made the leaves glitter in a painterly-like pose. The dynamics of the scene, from deep shadows, to cool highlights, made for perfection.

1959 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88
1959 was the last year of the big Horsepower for Oldsmobile until the muscle car era would arrive, it was also the last time Oldsmobile won the Daytona 500, with Richard Petty at the wheel of his 1959 Olds Dynamic 88 Hardtop, he won by only a fender length. Oldsmobile had three series for 1959, the Dynamic 88, the high-performance Super 88, and the ultra-luxury Ninety-Eight. The two-door hardtop was named the ‘Holiday SceniCoupe.’
The Oldsmobile Eighty Eight was a representation of an image. Especially during the beginning three years, the Oldsmobile 88 was one of the best performing automobiles. This was most likely due to its small size, along with the lightweight and advanced over-head valve high-compression V8 engines.
The Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 for 1959 had fins that started atop the front fenders and rose as they went to the back in rocket-shaped appendages. The Oldsmobile designers called it the ‘Linear Look’ and was an extreme departure shape from its highly chromed 1958 predecessor. The Dynamic 88 was powered by the standard 371 cubic-inch ‘Rocket’ V8 engine and fitted with an optional 4-speed ‘Jetaway’ Hydra-Matic transmission.

Swallows fly in random and dynamic path, like a bullet but randomly changing direction. It's hard to get them in the frame, and if did, then an instant auto-focus is a must to capture a clear image on its maneuver in air. Photographing fast moving bird not only is an excitement in art but also an opportunity to relook into science (aerodynamic). I guess that’s one of the reward in birding. Hope you like this one. As always, thank you for the comment and/or faves.

Sunset at Bahia Honda State Park, Big Pine Key, Florida. These clouds are a tropical depression. That first week of June 2005 we had 2 tropical depressions hit us during our photography trip. The second cut our trip short, as we tried to out run the feeder bands that would jeopardize a safe trip home to Coastal Mississippi. August 29, 2005, Katrina struck the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The rest is history. However, at the time this photograph was taken, all was right with our little world! It will remain full of good memories, as the calm before The Storm!
I like to eat a big bowl of honey vanilla Greek yogurt and top it with these and some homemade granola :D Yummm!
