Kristiansend (NORWAY), May. 23. 2018. A sea-recovered casuality is evacuated by Norwegian Search And Rescue (SAR) team and medical staff while arriving to Kristiansend harbor as part of scenario of Dynamic Massive exercise. Dynamic Massive is one of the large scale drills conducted during annual NATO SAR exercise DYNAMIC MERCY , which enables military, civilian rescue coordination centres and mobile SAR units to practice synthetic SAR scenarios to enhance cross regional cooperation and response in the event of an actual emergency.This year Dynamic Mercy consists of ten separate incidents, providing different training scenarios for the 13 RCCs and ATC, SAR agencies, SAR units, national authorities such as police forces, hospitals and fire fighters, and commercial agencies including off shore industries, rigs and ferries. ROYAL NAVY ON NATO EXERCISE OFF THE COAST OF ICELAND

 

On Wednesday 1st July 2020, the Task Force involved in this year's Exercise Dynamic Mongoose met off the coast of Iceland.

 

HMS Kent and her sister ship HMS Westminster met with the USS Roosevelt, USS Indiana, HNOMS Otto Sverdrop, HNOMS Utsira, HMCS Frederiction, FGS U36, and FS Casabianca Rouge off the Icelandic coast during a dark and overcast Thursday afternoon.

 

Exercise Dynamic Mongoose will see the sister ships from HMNB Portsmouth participate along with other countries including Iceland, Norway and Canada during extensive serials practicing the art of close proximity sailing, anti-submarine warfare drills and surface engagement drills (quickdraw exercises).

 

HMS Kent has been involved in a wide array of operations over the last three months, from exercising with the Americans in the Arctic Circle, taking part in Exercise BALTOPS 20 with numerous NATO units to working alongside HMS Queen Elizabeth in the North Sea.

The Chilliwack River, located in British Columbia, is a scenic and dynamic waterway that flows through the Fraser Valley, just east of Vancouver. Here are some key highlights:

 

🌊 Overview

Location: Near the city of Chilliwack, close to Vedder Crossing and the Soowahlie Indian Reserve.

 

Length: The river originates from Chilliwack Lake and flows westward, eventually joining the Vedder River.

 

Elevation: Around 55 meters (180 feet) above sea level.

 

🎣 Recreation

Fishing: It's one of the most popular fishing rivers in BC, known for salmon and steelhead. The Chilliwack Salmon Hatchery supports a productive fishery, especially in the fall when thousands of anglers visit

.

Species: Chinook, coho, chum, and pink salmon, as well as steelhead and cutthroat trout.

Best Seasons: September to November for salmon; December to May for steelhead.

 

🚣♂️ Adventure

Whitewater Paddling: The Chilliwack Canyon section offers Class III/IV rapids, making it a favorite for kayakers and rafters looking for a thrilling ride.

 

🚗 Access

Easily accessible via Highway 1 from Vancouver. Key access points include Vedder Road, Lickman Road, and Chilliwack Lake Road.
