Sometimes drama and motion can be seen and 'felt' even when none actually exists. If you think about this colorful blossom blowing in a strong wind, You can almost experience it.
Truth be told, though, it was completely calm, and the petals had just progressed to this point in the flowers lifespan.

One of a series of digital abstractions inspired by the Constructivist movement begun in Russia.
Constructivism was a post-First World War outgrowth of Russian Futurism, and particularly of the 'corner-counter reliefs' of Vladimir Tatlin, which had been exhibited in 1915. The term itself would be coined by the sculptors Antoine Pevsner and Naum Gabo, who developed an industrial, angular approach to their work, while its geometric abstraction owed something to the Suprematism of Kasimir Malevich. ....the theorists Alexei Gan, Boris Arvatov and Osip Brik would arrive at a definition of Constructivism as the combination of faktura: the particular material properties of the object, and tektonika, its spatial presence. Initially the Constructivists worked on three-dimensional constructions as a first step to participation in industry: the OBMOKhU (Society of Young Artists) exhibition showed these three dimensional compositions, by Rodchenko, Stepanova, Karl Ioganson and the Stenberg Brothers. Later the definition would be extended to designs for two-dimensional works such as books or posters, with montage and factography becoming important concepts.

"The canonical work of Constructivism was Vladimir Tatlin's proposal for the Monument to the Third International (1919) which combined a machine aesthetic with dynamic components celebrating technology such as searchlights and projection screens. Gabo publicly criticized Tatlin's design saying Either create functional houses and bridges or create pure art, not both. This had already led to a major split in the Moscow group in 1920 when Gabo and Pevsner's Realistic Manifesto asserted a spiritual core for the movement. This was opposed to the utilitarian and adaptable version of Constructivism held by Tatlin and Rodchenko. Tatlin's work was immediately hailed by artists in Germany as a revolution in art: a 1920 photo shows George Grosz and John Heartfield holding a placard saying 'Art is Dead - Long Live Tatlin's Machine Art', while the designs for the tower were published in Bruno Taut's magazine Fruhlicht.
This is a HDR image stitched together with 9 brackets in luminance HDR, and fine tuned in rawherapee.
I provide a full resolution version of the image, along with all bracket images in my home nextcloud server, which I will link below. It's interesting how HDR actually made a huge difference on what is visible in the image. It is hard to see the buildings far in the distance in all of the brackets, but put together, everything becomes clear and colorful.

In October of 2021, I was still relatively new to the railfan hobby. I took a trip to Willow Springs, Illinois to see the daily Metra trains and both the inbound and outbound Texas Eagles. While out there, I photographed this duo; GTW 4930 and EJE 656. It’s probably one of my best catches, although I didn’t know it at the time.

Fine Art Landscape & Nature Photography for Los Angeles Gallery Show !
Will be busy printing and framing in nice large, matted formats and frames and museum glass! Five of these photos will be printed on 40" x 60" floating wall mounted metal sheets! I think I know which--will share photos of the photos hanging on the walls!
And I am mounting some on plexiglass/acryllic--front mounting them! Some I am printing on lossy fuji-crystal archival paper too, and then front mounting 40"x60" versions to plexiglass--will send photos!
The secret to HDR photography is that you want people to say, "Woe dude--that's unreal!" And not, "Dude--that's not real!" "Unreal" is the word they use when they're trying to figure out the photo--what makes it cool--is it a photo? Is it painted? How'd it come to be--how'd you bend the light that way? "That's not real," is what they say if you have the saturation/HDR/ etc. turned up too high. :)
Some (almost) final edits for my Los Angeles Gallery Show! Printing them on metallic paper at 13" x 19" and mounting and framing them on a 4mm 18x24 white mat and 2" dark wood frame. Also printing some 40" x 70" which is over three feet by five feet! Wish you all could come (and hang out with the goddesses)!

Father and son collaboration
Our photographic art is a kinetic motion study, from the results of interacting with my son A.J and his toys.
He was born severely handicapped much like a quadriplegic. On December 17,1998. Our family’s goal has always been to help A.J. use his mind, even though he has minimal use of his body.
A.J. likes to watch lights and movement. One of the few things he can do for himself is to operate a switch that sets in motion lights and various shiny, colorful streamers and toys that swirl above his bed.
One day I took a picture of A.J. with his toys flying out from the big mobile near his bed like swings on a carnival ride. I liked the way the swirling objects and colors looked in the photo.
I wanted to study the motion more and photograph the whirling objects in an artful way, I wanted my son A.J. to be a part of it. After all, he’s the one who inspires me. When A.J. and I work together on our motion artwork, A.J. starts his streamers and objects twirling, I take the photographs.
Activating a tiny switch might not seem like much to some, but it’s all A.J. can do. He controls the direction the mobile will spin, as well as when it starts and stops. The shutter speeds are long, and sometimes, I move the camera and other times I hold it still.
I begin our creation with a Nikon digital camera. Then I use my computer with Photoshop to alter the images into what I feel might be an artistic way. Working with Photoshop, I find the best parts from several images and combine them into the final composite photograph. I consider the finished work to be fine art. The computer is just the vehicle that helps my expressions grow.
I take the photographs and A.J. adds the magic. It’s something this father and son do together. After I’ve taken a few shots, I show him the photos in the back of the camera. When the images are completed, I show him from a laptop. He just looks. He can’t tell me whether or not he likes the images, but he’s always ready to work with me again.
It offers me my only glance into A.J.’s secret world. We’ve built a large collection of images and I hope the motion and color move you as much as they do me.
A.J. inspires me to work harder to understand my life in the areas of art, photography, people, spirituality, and so much more. He truly sets my mind in motion and helps me find the beauty in everyday things.
The images in this abstract show are, Beautiful high definition, photographic prints on brushed aluminum. A new art medium for preserving photos by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets. The image stability of MetalPrints is 2 to 4 times the image stability of traditional silver based photographic papers.

Chinese folk dance first appeared over 5000 years ago and is a by-product of long historical development and profound artistic culture. Its origin lies mainly in the movements and dance reflecting people's daily life, festival activities and customs.
Dynamic Yunnan is a grand, original ethnic dance musical. It fuses beauty of Yunnan ethnic minorities dance and songs with the power of modern stage exhibition. Through the artistic director's reorganization and recreation of the essence of traditional songs and dance with the most classic style of folk dance, the richness of the culture of Yunnan minorities is born again on stage with startling effects.
An extraordinary sense of "Impression of Yunnan" (Yunnan Yingxiang) is brought to the audience through the exhibition of the clashed effect between the classic and original ethnic songs and dance and modern dance choreography. This is the first production produced, directed and choreographed by the famous dancer, Yang Liping.
Original characteristics of ethnic folk songs and dances
Real costumes and actual ways of life of the minorities of Yunnan province
Real bullheads, Tibetan praying stones (Mani stone) and Buddhist praying wheels on stage
Performed by 68 drums with the original ethnic beats and rhythms. Decorated with more than 120 unique masks in Yunnan minorities style
Around 100% of the performers are genuine Yunnan ethnic minorities who left their villages to participate in the troupe
Dynamic Yunnan's lighting, music and stage design together created a 3-dimensional, imaginative and surreal stage setting for the audience.

A performer from Italian dance/physical threatre group Sonics, performing their show Duum at last year's Edinburgh Fringe.
There were many striking moments in this show, but the lighting was problematic...in terms of colour and (lack of) contrast.
In such situations...black and white often offers a viable solution. :-)
