Nothing is scarier than looking down at your camera and seeing your lights overexposed and your darks underexposed when you have got two 645’s roaring into view.. But then you get back to the desk and work some serious magic. L510, with a "map" up front hustles its way across the Theresa Marsh as it blares the horn for Theresa Station. Not sure if this will be a repeating pattern, but when I checked L510 out the other day it had two SD60's for power. I can only assume this is going to be the next replacement for the 40's, which are both 44 years old in this photo.

This was shot in Pray, MT, 40 mins driving distance north of Yellowstone NP. We lived in a fantastic Airbnb house for three days and really enjoyed the surrounding views.
It is always a great chance to see a stunning sunrise with dynamic clouds after storm.
Well not exactly Batman and Robin and if we were to be super hero's I'm sure we would fight over being Wonder Woman. What Gillian and I do have though is a dynamic friendship, we have known each other for some six years and even if we can go some months between seeing each other the strength and bond of that friendship never diminishes. I feel we are true girlfriends.

Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Van's US Open Sports Photography Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD !
I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracles took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 14mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the brigth sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS< but still awesome and enough I felt!

"Closing Act:" I had seen so much drama unfold in the otherworldly landscape and dynamic skies just in the final half hour of daylight, that I thought the show was over. But then I turned 180 degrees behind me and saw this, nature's final bow. Bisti Badlands, New Mexico.
I always hope that people can see joy and fun in the images AJ and I do. You here at flickr see most of the images we do. I hope that one day someone will help us find away to get more of them on walls. I think to go past here and in to the real art world would be great. Any way have fun and enjoy the color and light in the images.

Father and son collaboration
Our photographic art is a kinetic motion study, from the results of interacting with my son A.J and his toys.
He was born severely handicapped much like a quadriplegic. On December 17,1998. Our family’s goal has always been to help A.J. use his mind, even though he has minimal use of his body.
A.J. likes to watch lights and movement. One of the few things he can do for himself is to operate a switch that sets in motion lights and various shiny, colorful streamers and toys that swirl above his bed.
One day I took a picture of A.J. with his toys flying out from the big mobile near his bed like swings on a carnival ride. I liked the way the swirling objects and colors looked in the photo.
I wanted to study the motion more and photograph the whirling objects in an artful way, I wanted my son A.J. to be a part of it. After all, he’s the one who inspires me. When A.J. and I work together on our motion artwork, A.J. starts his streamers and objects twirling, I take the photographs.
Activating a tiny switch might not seem like much to some, but it’s all A.J. can do. He controls the direction the mobile will spin, as well as when it starts and stops. The shutter speeds are long, and sometimes, I move the camera and other times I hold it still.
I begin our creation with a Nikon digital camera. Then I use my computer with Photoshop to alter the images into what I feel might be an artistic way. Working with Photoshop, I find the best parts from several images and combine them into the final composite photograph. I consider the finished work to be fine art. The computer is just the vehicle that helps my expressions grow.
I take the photographs and A.J. adds the magic. It’s something this father and son do together. After I’ve taken a few shots, I show him the photos in the back of the camera. When the images are completed, I show him from a laptop. He just looks. He can’t tell me whether or not he likes the images, but he’s always ready to work with me again.
It offers me my only glance into A.J.’s secret world. We’ve built a large collection of images and I hope the motion and color move you as much as they do me.
A.J. inspires me to work harder to understand my life in the areas of art, photography, people, spirituality, and so much more. He truly sets my mind in motion and helps me find the beauty in everyday things.
