Dyeing BFL and tussah silk roving in the dishwasher in a recycled "Newman's Own Marinara Sauce jar". Jacquard dyes were used to produce this shade of salmon or peach. The sealed jar is then placed on the bottom rack of the dishwasher and run through one cycle with the regular load to "steam" the roving.

Walking my daughter to school every day this fall, we passed two walnut trees dropping nuts all over the place. Clearly nobody wanted them, so I purchased this bucket with a lid and we collected them one day for my first ever natural dyeing experiment.
