Kitani-san and I went to the island of Shodoshima to try some olive-dyeing! It was fabulously fun, but I felt a little out of place around these old ladies. They really stuck it to me that not only was I foreign, but I was 30 year younger than the youngest of them. Aw, people!

The dye turned out like a muted olive drab. Maybe that's why it's called olive drab? Hey!
