My first time ever doing poodle feet/face and dying a poodle. It's a lot easier to dye a compliant dog (read: Bonaparte) but this didn't turn out too badly when you think about it. He looks really cute, although the deep blue isn't deep enough IMO so you really don't see a "fade". Oh well, next time.

Like other genres, jazz has its own dynasties where music moves from one generation to the other. Bokani Dyer’s family is such a dynasty. A son of well-known saxophonist Steve Dyer, Bokani grew up in a musical family. Both his parents were members of the ANC’s cultural wing, Amandla when they were in exile. Growing up in such an environment, it was a matter of time before the young lad followed in his parents’ footsteps.
A graduate of the University of Cape Town’s College of Music, Bokani will lead his own piano-bass-drum trio at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival. The trio is one of many bands that the young pianist is part of. In addition to his sideman’s role in bands led by Jimmy Dludlu, Moreira Chonguiça and Shannon Mowday, Bokani also leads an original groove music band, Plan Be. In his short career, the pianist who has flute as his second instrument has performed in Norway, Sweden and all over Southern Africa. His debut album will be out at the end of 2009.
Chloe, my neice chose this combination of Kool-Aid colours for the yarn we dyed together. With a ball winder we wound the yarn into a ball and then set it in the red dye bath. After all the dye was absorbed, we turned the ball over and set it in the purple dye bath. I then knit the yarn into a teddy bear sweater for Chloe for Christmas.
