The ranger station has a special lightning sensor which gives the distance of lightning strikes. The summer monsoon season means basically daily thunderstorms in the area. Once the strikes get close enough they recommend the alternate sheltered trail to get back to the station.

A cliff dwelling dating from 1100-1300 A.D. in the Sedona area (Palatki Ruins).

These dwellings are from a partially excavated site of the Elden Pueblo indigenous peoples who inhabited this site from probably 1070 to 1275.

These Cappadocian cave dwelling once housed families who collected pigeon droppings to be sold as fertiliser to nearby farms. The houses are now abandoned all along the escarpment of the Pigeon Valley, approximately 5km from the town of Goreme, Cappdocia, Central Anatolia.
