One of the " houses " in the Maasai Village that we visited on our trip. Side by side they make a very large circle in which the cattle are kept at night to protect them from the predatiors.
Hand held. 20D W/28-135 lens.
Built c. 1729. Repaired 1734. Meeting discontinued in 1816. Let out as a dwelling with Friends retaining the right to hold meetings there although I do not know if this right remains. Repaired 1866. C. 1900 an additional storey was added so the building looks very little like a meeting house now.
Located at the foot of Pikes Peak these authentic Anasazi cliff dwellings are built more than 700 years ago .
