From the Dwelling series

A spooky old house along the country roads. Captured for HDR.

Cappadocia, Turkey

The left, white building is the original 1836 meeting house. The red-brick building is the extension built in 1903. The meeting closed in 1992 and in the following year both buildings were sold for conversion to a dwelling.

Currently (May 2008) new owners are sympathetically altering the inside (the notice of meetings for worship hangs in the draught lobby for example, and they have re-named the dwelling "The Old Friends' Meeting House").

Once I learn a bit on how to use software to adjust picts I'd like to try and bring out his green a bit more. Oppps, now I have Photoshop but been to busy to get to this one, try it soon.

The Betatakin (Bitát'ahkin in Navajo) cliff dwellings are located within Navajo National Monument which is in the northwest of the Navajo Reservation in northern Arizona.

We camped at the monumnet, but were not able to tour Betatakin this time. Will try to come back one day, it is very beautiful. These photos were taken from a viewpoint on the self-guided trail above the cliff dwellings.

Took this photo through a set of binoculars, a field expedient telephoto. Kind of happy with the results, using a little Canon point and shoot.

This was a hiking trip to an old indian cliff dwelling on the side of a butte near Cherry Creek, AZ

This carved-out cave is said to be an old "Paint Mine" where indians used the brightly-colored minerals to create paint for their pottery and such
